re: Is That You In Your Avatar? Part 3!

I watched Running With Scissors yesterday. Very weird movie. The book (which I've only read about a 1/3 of) was also weird--but the movie was pretty confusing. The first half was pretty horrible--they did a horrible job of leading up to events. The 2nd half managed to make me tear up a little bit. re: Is That You In Your Avatar? Part 3! The boy who played Augusten was also in Strangers With Candy (movie)--which was crazy because I watched that yesterday too. I had never seen the boy before and then I saw him in 2 movies yesterday. Crazy.

I also watched Little Miss Sunshine yesterday. It was pretty good until the end (which I thought was pretty stupid). I rented Jesus Camp and Grey Gardens today and have watched a little less than half of Grey Gardens. It's very hard to follow...this is my 2nd try at watching it. Now that I'm familiar with the musical, the documentary is a lot more interesting...

and that's my life story. Hope you all enjoyed it!

I have a question for you all--I have a try-out for a thing called "Scotsmen" at my school on Wednesday/Thursday in front of the student body. I have to perform a skit with a group. Which do you all think would be funnier--Parks as a goth or Parks as a drill team member?

Woo! Part threeeeeeeeee! How's life everyone? I'm on spring break, so I'm at home for the week. And then next week, my show opens, so that's exciting. And I have to wear a dance belt... and nothing else.

On the note of avatars, that has to be one of the most racy. In my opinion, anyway.
The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

No, I know very little about Follies.

Just kidding, I know what you meant. And no.

Yay for being cast!

And yay for Quibby only wearing dance belts. BTW, when did you get cast in a show? Way to keep us updated there, boo.

You thought Little Miss Sunshine was "pretty good", Parksy? Only pretty good? And what about the end? Like, when did the end start for you?

re: Is That You In Your Avatar? Part 3!

Here--this is what I've decided on.

*POSSIBLE SPOILER!!!*

If the dance number had just been like 3 minutes shorter, it would have been MUCH better. That was the longest dance number I've ever seen--and it was cute/funny at first, but it got really old. It must have gone on for atleast 5 minutes.

that's it. if that had been changed, I would have been MUCH happier with the movie.

re: Is That You In Your Avatar? Part 3!

I am designing three shows and assisting on two shows, as well as doing my thesis and three classes. I feel like I might die....like...actually.

The good news is I got a paying assistantship this summer at a theatre festival, as well as one of my other shows is being remounted this summer!

Hard work sucks.

Akiva, you are nothing if not ambitious! Good for you!

Parks, did you decide on the drill srgt, or the goth?

I thought I told everyone... Moonie knows. I was cast in two shows in December. The first, a play called The Devils, opens on March 15. I will be appearing in a very skimpy costume. The second, Damn Yankees, is in April.

I always thought a bar mitzvah was a confirmation of sorts.
