Except for Golden Girls and Family Guy I can't think of a single sitcom that I have ever found funny.
There are a few more I could mention, but I tend to watch sitcoms as a zone-out while doing something else, not for the jokes... which, incidentally, is why I appreciate WE showing constant Golden Girls marathons so much.
I too love THE NANNY, and ROSEANNE was hilarious in its heyday.
Incidentally, scott, I heard that WE and Hallmark badly edit GG, the latter even going so far as to bleep "damn" and "hell" and the like.
I found the Nanny to be beyond annoying. Roseanne had it's moments, when she was sane during production.
THE NANNY annoying? Or just her voice?
Gotta love the Broadway references, though.
I just figured I would stop into this thread and say hi, so Hi!
Hi TnGuy. Tell us about yourself. And welcome.
Hahah, I love that a "The Nanny" love thread just sprang up. I hated it for about half an episode, tolerated it for the next two and a half episodes, then fell into the formula and started loving it. It isn't good by any stretch of the imagination, but it's... fine, let's say.
Although it makes me angry that the clearly ragingly queeny butler has to somehow "end up" with the female partner.
I'm sure it was a total coincidence, scott.
That reminds of Malcom Gets character always having a thing for Caroline in Caroline in the City. Really?!?!? Dude couldn't be any more queeny if he was Elizabeth herself.
Daniel Davis (the butler) is gay in real life. In fact, he's not even British. He's from Nebraska.
scott, have you seen the episode with the dream sequence with Fran as Alexis Colby and CC as Krystle Carrington? I thought of you when I watched it again a couple months back.
Hahah, just on Youtube, but my roommate describes it to me all the time thinking he's never mentioned it before. I think he might have very mild Alzheimer's. It's amazing how accurate CC's Krystle (or should I say Lalique?) voice is!
(So quoth the boy who totally doesn't have the Dynasty theme song as one of the ringtones on his cell phone)

There are actually quite a few sitcoms that have made me laugh through the years; although, not too many in the recent past.
Yes, NotScott, you are now officially, shall we say, "aging."
Well, better aging than aged, as my parents, who are both about to turn *gasp* FIFTY, always said.
I just got back from The Bacchae in the park. Hmm. Interesting, but less than the sum of its parts, I think.
When my mom turned the big 5-0 last year I made her a Sally O'Malley card! :-P
When my mom turns fifty I'm gonna put her in an old people's camp.
Shady Pines, Ma!
One of my favorite movies is Wild In The Streets where they put all the adults in internment camps and force them to smoke grass and take LSD.
Shlley Winters is a RIOT in that movie. Mostly b/c she's taking it seriously.
Never heard of it. But I Googled it and it was nominated for an Oscar. For film editing.
Hilarious. Worst movie of all time in a good way.
According to Wikipedia, 4 years ago it was released on a twofer DVD along with GAS-S-S-S. Have you seen or heard of that one?
Yes, that's the Midnite Movies double feature. That's where I first saw it!
Gas-s-s is a Roger Corman film and bizarre in its own right, but it doesn't come close to Wild In The Street.
Hey sexies!
Has anyone else had to deal with FAFSA? I hate them! HATE THEM! HATE THEM! HATE THEM!
I'm starting school tomorrow. Should be fun.
What's everyone else doing this week?
I'm excited for this week! Apparently we're filming spots with casts of all kinds of shows. Tomorrow's one of my favorites, although the script is all kinds of tacky.
Did anyone else watch the Mad Men season premiere? I haven't ever watched the show before, but this episode guaranteed that I'll catch up and keep watching.
