Nice, Cal! You look far less 90's there than you do in your fan pics!
And taz, indeed, I blow. Hard, and with a good firm embouchure. It helps. Your fingers can get tired after a while, and your lips, but it makes a nice sound.
Actually, I was a clarinet and cor anglais double major. I do play the violin, but clarinet is my main instrument.
why are you blowing out your finger? Where has it been?

And he blows"
And finally, he faints.

Oh really, Jaily? Yay for Clarinettists! I'm planning to be a reed, you know, saxes and clarinets. Perhaps flute, if necessary. Isn't cor anglais more associated with the oboe than the clarinet? Bit of a weird combination. Maybe it's just me matching up the single and double reeds.
Edit to Add: 1. Whoa, that is one gorgeous clarinet, Jaily! Wow.
2. *faints*
we have a band here! Woodwind, strings, and Jaily on percussion.
He can beat a rhythym!
*sigh*
Today is a blah day for me. Anyone else in a blah day?
Jaily also plays the piano..very LOUDLY at 2 in the morning !!!!
welcome to my life, matthew.

There's just something very 90's about that for me.

There's something very pre-90s about that one, too.
Linnie, the word you're looking for in the first one is FAT.
I play all of the woodwinds. Yes, it's a bit odd to double major in clarinet and English horn (I was also required to do oboe juries every semester, but it wasn't officially part of my major), but they're my two favorite instruments, and the audition committee had a spot for an English horn major, so they stuck me in it. I also got MUCH more scholarship money for declaring a double major in EH...
While I was there I also studied flute (with Carol Wincenc), bassoon (with Judith LeClair and Whitney Crockett), violin/viola (Kyung Wha Chung and Masao Kawasaki) and 'cello (with Andre Emelianoff). My primary clarinet teacher was Ricardo Morales, and I studied EH with Tom Stacy. (And I play the saxophone, but I rarely admit that to people :-P)
calvin, i thought you said that you discovered product.
If you can use a rusty trombone let me know

That's special, Jaily. Pity, did the original barrel crack? Looks lovely, all the same.
Here's a Contrabass Sax, if you want, D2:
And here's some clarinets, if you wish to join me, Jaily;
