Linnie, that image is priceless! The ****saphone, or whatever you called it.
I'll pass on being one of the boys in this band, though, thank you. I'm not blowing anything in public.
Linnie, that band is brilliant. We are so gonna rock Glastonbury!
aww...Contrabass Sex, I mean Sax, was my nickname in High School!
No, the original barrel didn't crack. I just really love Backun's products. I also have a Backun cocobolo bell, and i have several other barrels in different lengths with different bore styles in various exotic hardwoods. I'm an equipment junkie! (I have 16 mouthpieces for my Bb clarinet alone...)
I do believe that is Jay Easton, btw, with the contrabass sax. He now plays the Tubax, manufactured by Benedikt Eppelsheim, who has also recently released a newly re-designed contrabass clarinet.
Oh, and RobbO darling, here's one more just for you.

And a special piano for a special pianist;
Here, tazzy;
So, that's;
SH*Tsaphone - RobbO
Contrabass Sax - D2
Dyksaphone - Rath
Clarinets - VM
Percussion - Jaily
Piano - Taz
Rusty Tromboner - Boobs
Did I miss someone?
By the way, boobs, if it's rusty, does it still slide, or does it need a bit of lube?

Jaily, you make me feel so humble. I only have two mouthpieces, and one crappy Selmer clarinet.
My bass clarinet is a Selmer. :) (also made of rosewood)
Yay Selmer!
Linnie, I love that piano. Thank you sweetie.
Calvin, you have very big pupils.
I guess I'm singing.
They say that about all my holes.
You are one dirty lady.
Jaily! You showoff!
Linnie, I told you, I'm not going to be one of the boys in this band. I'm shy.
Oh, please...I didn't even post a pic of my gold flute

Stop, Jaily! You tease too much! You tease!
And no, I haven't forgotten you, doodle. Soprilla Sax:
Shown here across the bell of a Tenor Sax. That's one cute Saxophone, no?!

Or would you prefer one in silver?
I don't even know why they bother putting a clasp on for a sax strap, it's hardly going to weigh anyone down.
Ahh, so I see you found Eppelsheim's website :)
That's actually laying across the bell of his newly re-designed bass sax. (which has a much smaller bore than the standard Evette/Buescher/Selmer style bass sax, and a radically reconfigured neck)
(not trying to be pedantic or anything, I'm just a bit of a horn geek...and I've met Benedikt several times at sax conventions, and at the last ClariFest when he unveiled the new contrabass clarinet)

No, I haven't even heard of Eppelsheim's website. i got that from a friend, maybe he found it there. he said it was a Tenor. Sorry.
Now please, you make me feel very worthless and crap, so stop! Your superior instruments, skills and knowledge makes me feel very small. Before anyone says it, I mean small mentally, okay?
Aww, sorry, pooky.
Anywho, here's the link to where he got those pics from:
Soprillo Sax - Benedikt Eppelsheim
But...Linnie...it...so....tiny.
In the interests of keeping this thread true to its purpose (discussing avatars) just let me say that as much as I like you Linnie, your av freaks me out.
Now back to comparing your instruments.
Doodle, you are SUCH A SIZE QUEEN!!
"I'm just a bit of a horn geek"
um...yeah!
Unfortunate that we posted at the same time, Jaily. I am NOT a size queen. I am currently a queen of size, but we're working on that.
vm..lube always make it slide easier..why work so hard when I don't have to.....well kiddies I gotta finish up work so that I can get outta here. What song should I be rehearsing 1st? Later avatarians.
