Right, that's the original "blue box" version. And that is exactly what I mean...they are very inconsistent. I always get all 10 performance-ready, but that usually means that for at least six of them, I have to knife-balance them, usually have to glass-sand them, and occasionally I have to do tipwork on them.

That's why I generally just make my own, although I've found the Rico Reserves to be just as satisfying.

Suzanne: I never use catalogs. I'd rather go in the store and see all the salespeople groveling and sucking up to you. Julia: Pardon me, I never knew they were so solicitous at the K-Mart.

And your health?

Jaily, that's exactly like mine, except they say Sib on top instead of Mib.

The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

I'm very excited for NY Pinky!
And my health is fine, Linnie.
Yes Cal, I will be up to take you to the prom, but we are not dining at Babbu, or whatever it's called. I don't think I like their menu.

Well, yes, that was just a random image of a box of Eb clarinet reeds...I rather assumed you only played the Bb clarinet, but the boxes look the same. :)

The Vandoren Rue Lepic reeds are also wonderful, if you're loyal to Vandorens.

Me neither. Besides, it's overpriced and too tough to get in. And Mario Batali wears orange crocs with yellow socks, and that's inexcusable.

Jaily, I've never played a reed that's not VanDoren, so I would be loyal. However, those look mad expensive.

Linnie, there are MANY other fantastic types of reed out there besides the Evil Empire of Vandoren. :)

Tink, therein lies my point...it seems to me you are talking about individual instances - not institutional changes.

For example, a female President --there is absolutely no substance to the argument that Hillary Clinton is not qualified enough to be President, when in fact her credentials far exceed any Democratic nominee for the past three decades.

Whether she is likable, or she is too hawkish..whatever other excuses throw at her...I can accept that people have political or ideological issues with her. Although I happen to believe that had she been voted against the initial resolution from the beginning she wouldn't even be a factor in this race.

I'd love to see Clinton or Obama...but from years of hacking I honestly doubt that we shall see either one leading the ticket....I am deeply curious to see how opinions of Pelosi factor in-- most people were only vaguely aware of who she was at all when she ascended to the third highest office in the country.. I just wish the Congress and the Democratic leadership (like the DLC,and DNC) was being more effective in general because I fear she will wind up being blame for the Dems failures because she wasn't "strong" enough, and not because we won by default and did not have an united ideology or plan going in to power as the GOP did in 1994.
