re: Is That you In Your Avatar? - Swinging 20

Hey, Taz - I just turned them off for when I was out of town because I wasn't sure what my 'connectivity' would be.

But I'll turn them on for you re: Is That you In Your Avatar? - Swinging 20

Happy New Year, Avs.
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

I'm making a post...in 2009...
"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

The first movie I watched in 2009 was Freddy vs. Jason, then Superbad.

I watched Antonioni's The Passenger (loved it, which is surprising since I usually find his work too self indulgent), The Bridge To Terebithia (loved it too, had no idea it would end that way. Cried like a little bitch), and Angel's With Dirty Faces (Cagney's best performance IMO).

taz, you'd never read BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA before? It was required reading in my 5th-grade class. We also had to watch the old TV version with Annette O'Toole. Worst acting ever in that movie.

re: Is That you In Your Avatar? - Swinging 20

The trailer reminded me of Narnia when I first saw it, so I dismissed it as just another "children's book to movie" adaptation. What about it was so good?

re: Is That you In Your Avatar? - Swinging 20

Yeah, the trailer is misleading. The so-called Narnia aspect is not the focus of the movie. In fact, there isn't a lot of it in the movie. What you saw in the trailer is pretty much it.

Cool. I'm not a big Narnia fan.

ETA: I just looked it up on Netflix. Apparently I can insta-watch it. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow. I'm too tired to focus on a movie right now.

re: Is That you In Your Avatar? - Swinging 20

Yea, it's NOTHING like Narnia. That ad campaign was a total bait and switch. Which is a shame b/c it caused bad word of mouth as people were expecting FX and whatnot.

What I liked about it was the relationship between the two kids and the "moral" of the story, if you will.
I don't want to say any more lest I give something away.

Hey bitches! I've been MIA lately because the apartment won't have internet until the ninth, but rest assured I'm all moved in and have already broken my room in (in more ways than one, hey-oh!). Saw Liza tonight (along with Barbara Walters, Chita, and Andre Leon Talley), starting my internship on Monday, and missing you all a little bit!

And I miss you like a child misses their pee-stained blanket.
