It was pretty good. In a cheesy 80s monster movie kind of way.
This movie called Red Mist that comes out Tuesday looks interesting.

I've felt pulled in so many directions lately! Life is so complicated. Do I take Etta's side or Beyonce's? Faye's or Hilary's? WHY ME, GOD?!?
I know herr, life is always full of tough decisions. Let your heart guide you and you'll always find the right answer.

What's a heart? Are people supposed to have one of those?
yes, men have them in their members

Well, being the purest of virgins as I am, it's no wonder I've never noticed mine!

I love 'pure virgins' who advertise in their avs that 'you want it'
And Taz, to tell the truth, I thought my darling Etta was a bit out of line. Even with the 'joking' element in place, it was pretty mean-spirited and unnecessary
it was a little mean spirited. Anytime you make fun of someone's appearance it's never funny.
but...but...it's Etta!
I'm still torn.

I mean, you want it because you can't have it! Right... right?
Either way, I wish Etta had made it easier to be on her side. Even while listening to Beyonce singing at the inauguration ball, my first thought was "Oh, she's finally learned to imitate Etta's tweaks on the song," which I actually meant in a very positive way, because Etta singing the song is my favorite recording of any song... ever. But with her "joking" response and being kind of a grotsky biotch, there's no way to really 100% side with Ms. James.

Hey, you know I cut her ALL the slack! And besides, she's 71, so she can say whatever she wants.
But that doesn't mean everyone has to like or accept it.
Well, I'm also not a fan of Beyonce. She's seems like a sweetheart, I just don't like her music.
But I know she really looks up to Etta, and I bet it was disillusioning for her to hear that.

I'm old enough to feel that a little disillusionment is a good thing
And besides, something tells me Ms. Thing will carry on. I wouldn't know one of her songs if it hit me over the head, but she seems to be charting a pretty smart course for herself.
And this will just be one more thing that Etta can sing the Blues about.

And even if this were to kill Beyonce's music career (HA!), she'd still have the House of Dereon to fall back on!

Hey kids :)
Hello my dearest Avs!
I have missed you all so much! But I fear I will still not be on here much for at least another few weeks when classes are done.
But, I have news! I got a role! Finally!
The play is called The Boardinghouse by Vern Harden. If you've ever heard of it (something I highly doubt) I have the role of Tweenie.
The bad news is I have an hours drive each way to the theatre out in the middle of tiny little Modale Iowa. A town too small to have a stoplight.

I shall be in NYC in three seconds! Poof! Here!
PS: Seeing The Story of My Life and 33 Variations next week. Anyone seen either yet?
I saw Story of My Life in Toronto a few years ago in a previous incarnation (with Brent Carver and Jeffrey Kuhn). I'm sure it has changed a LOT since then though.
I'm hoping to make it to NY in June for the birth of my best friend's first kid. We'll see if my schedule and budget will let that happen though.
