Incidentally, tazber's gibberish posts made me think of something I read today in my BOOK OF FACTS:

"To the early Greeks, foreign languages seemed to be a meaningless succession of syllables, like "bar-bar-bar." Michael (my boyfriend, for those who don't know) speaks fluent French. He lived in Paris, off an on, for nearly a decade.

I've been wanting him to teach me, because I think it'd be cute for us to have our own conversations while we're out in public, but he doesn't think he'd be a good teacher.

He's American, but he lived in Paris for a bit.

For a little bit, I was seeing this Dutch boy. Then I moved on to this Brazilian, but he went off to Florida for a couple of weeks. That's when I met Michael.
