I'm going to my friend's Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids benefit tonight. They're performing songs by Jason Robert Brown. Should be fun.

dear Uncle Goggles,

so there's this guy who flirts with me all the time and i know he wants to be with me as much as he won't admit it. he calls me stuff like "petal" and says its a generic term out there. but he also says "son" and wants me to call him "uncle" all of the sudden. he's obviously into role playing. but i think that his "son" and "uncle" is a little messed up, if not disturbing. what should i do?

This guy is obviously a wind up merchant! As a true northerner i can vouch that petal is a generic term. I think you need to look deeply within yourself and find that loving yourself is the true answer. You can't make people love you, and stalking them erans you a criminal record. I think you need to learn to see the humour in the guys messages and appreciate him for the friendship he provides.

just a term... like hey dude! Lot's of regions in the UK have different ones... duck, sweetheart, darling, petal, chicken (an essex fave!) sunshine, son, mate or matey... too many to list!

On a more serious note, I am really happy for you Parks that you've found so much support from your online friends here. The Internet is very powerful, and I can't help feeling happy that kids out there who don't have a support system because of their family or their school or their town or their surroundings can find that kind of love and support at sites like BWW.com! You're going to be quite something five/ten years from now! Actually, you already are.
