Is there a BWW age rite of passage?

Is there a BWW age rite of passage?

As of late, one of my BWW cohorts and I have noticed that there is a certain group of posters that have the impression that since they have surpassed age eighteen, that they are now the BWW sh!t. Are they right in thinking so?

Yes.

I actually have no idea what in the hell you're talking about. If you want to call someone out, just do it, none of this veiled B.S.

The rite of passage age is actually thirty.

I have no interest in calling anyone out. I didn't have one specific person in mind while posting this, I simply want to know the board's thoughts on this issue.

No really.

Does that mean if I pretend I'm 18 I can be sh!t? That would be sweet. With an s. Not a c.

(I saw that line in a movie once. I forget the title. Cause it was a crap movie. Funny how I remembered a line but not the title. Does anyone know what it is now it'll bug me. Not to threadjack of course.)

Was it the Jets or the Sharks?

I don't see an issue here.

Yes, there is an age divide (though I think it's closer to late 20s-30ish as Kringas said) but this is fairly natural. There are few 30-somethings that enjoy interacting with most 16 year olds. Even at 23 there are few teenagers I can tolerate. And in contrast, the teenagers tend to stick together in the appreciation threads and on the student board.

It's nothing that I lose sleep over at night, and I certainly wasn't hoping to start another bitch-slap thread.

But with all the talk (is there still talk?) of an adult board, and talking down to the "teenyboppers," I would really like to know if there's an age... thing.

I don't know. To some, perhaps? But it means different things to different people. What the age... thing means to me most likely differs from what it means to a certain group of posters that have the impression that since they have surpassed age eighteen, that they are now the BWW sh!t.

What does the age... thing mean to you?

I know that there is always going to be an age...thing. And yes, that is probably how it should be. People of a certain age group are going to tend to have more in common with each other, BUT I don't think that there should be a, "Oh, you must still be stupid because you're under this age." or a, "Oh, you've got to be intelligent since you're above this age."

I agree with you completely Over the Moon but there's really nothing anyone can do. That's why the audlt board came into discussion, I think.

p.s. loving the avatar

I still think it varies from person to person. Everyone brings their own bag of BS to Broadway World. I don't know if it's an age... thing. There are certain posters I tend to gravitate toward more than others, but it has little to do with how old they are and almost only to do with how they present themselves when the post.

Well to be honest I can't imagine why someone would flat out go I'm such and such an age. But there are certain tendencies that will allude to your age... or just the fact that people don't like you. It's all a fact of life. YAY!

I've definitely noticed that it is less about age and more about the quality of what you post. There are many posters on here that I've assumed were in their late 20s or early thirties, only to find out later that they were still in high school. Conversely, I have seen people post whom I thought were mere children, only to learn that they were adults. Adults who TAUGHT! CHILDREN! Adults who were in an active position to shape young minds!

I'm only 14 but I don't limit my posting to appreciation threads and the student board, but only because I share opinions when I believe them to be interesting, or facts when I belioeve them to be helpful. Does that mean that I act like I'm the sh!t? Honestly, does it? (I'm not ebing sarcastic at all, I really want to know)

P.S. If, however you were to swing by the Mano love thread...
