Truth be told it's not.
I was just remembering Kathy Bates - Six Feet Under.

Radi - no lie - my ex drives a Subaru Forrester!! I never knew it was *the* lesbian car, not just *that* lesbian's car.
Rath -- neither did I until I bought one and my lesbian colleague informed me of this interesting piece of information...and yes of course she drives one too! But being bisexual or pansexual or whatever the hell category I fall into -- I guess the car and the presumption that goes with it pretty much suits me.

Posted: 4/16/07 at 5:42pmMy car insisted on wearing a rainbow sticker on its bumper absolutely EVERYWHERE. I was so embarrassed.

I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee. That's kinda macho.
My next car was about to be a Land Rover, BUT they're gas guzzlers, incredibly bad for the environment (not that my Jeep is much better), and they have terrible performance ratings.
I need an SUV that's better for the environment than my current car and still macho. Any suggestions? (I don't like Hummers. SO DON'T * EVEN * GO * THERE! * = finger snaps.)

Posted: 4/16/07 at 6:06pmMatthew -- how about an Escape Hybrid? Toyota just rolled out a hybrid SUV also -- but I have no idea what model...but I know what ya mean...I love my Sube, but I am praying they roll out a hybrid Forrester- and soon.

Posted: 4/16/07 at 6:11pmI don't drive, I don't have a car. But if I did drive and I did own a car, it would be a navy blue Mercedes convertible sports coupe with a white interior. Do they even make those anymore? And if they do, then can it get any gayer?

I drive a black SUV---2007 Hyundai Santa Fe (Limited Edition). Leather interior, automatic everything, blah-blah-blah...
I like it.
I don't think it's gay at all. More like comfy codger... but I'm starting to feel like every other producer who pulls into that parking lot.
I'm a cliche!!!

As my partner is obsessed with car design, we have multiple stacks of car magazines lying about the house. One of my favorite quotes from a design review was when they said there was "absolutely nothing masculine" about the New Beetle. Of course, it was funny to me because, at the time, there was one in our garage.
I think it's the flower vase on the dashborad that's the deal-breaker.

A flower vase on the dashboard?
How utterly joyous!
That's about the best car accessory I ever heard of since a lighted mirror on the driver's shade.

Oh yes, Nom, it was QUITE the thing! We, of course, kept it supplied with fresh flowers - timed to the season and hollidays, naturally

Bless you, RadiGal2.
I sure as hell hope not.
Besides that... it's comfy for 40-something fart like me. I like trekking up to the mountains or out of "L.A. proper" for a day-trip in it. It's my escape vehicle! ...without actually being as monstrous as an Escape.

best12bars,
just don't do that sign of the cross thing -- would be risking fire and brimstone for the likes of my black soul...
yep...I'm the same....I would die with my Sube mostly because I live out of the thing...and this new job I am hoping for will have me driving a lot more than I do already, plus it easily handles the treks out deep into desert I take on a monthly basis, (shh, I am, *looks around whispering*-- a humanitarian, *gasp* yes I actually go looking to help lost migrants..) and gets pretty good gas mileage -- although-- the gas tank is absurdly small and therefore feels after if one is always filling her up, very disconcerting.

My car is most definately a lesbian...
And she costs FAR too much to run!
I've gotta invest in a nice little gay car, that would make me happy...
