Well, it really is about time. If its anything like the last time I waited and waited and waited and waited for the book, and then read it in 4 hours and was thoroughly disappointed, I will be very upset.
More Snape and Hermione/Ron romance JK!
Oh, I was so not upset with the last one. It's my favourite after Book Three...
Well, three just kicked ass. The movie version of three made me cry, b/c it was so bad....
Really? I thought the third movie was the only one that was any good.
YAY!!! That's so soon!

Cancel anything I have planned in the morning of July sixteenth, I need to read it.
I actually don't really like any of the movies, but the third was better than the first two.
Freeing up July 16th AND 17th to get reading time and reaction time..
Did you guys see those new hi-res pictures from GoF? One of Harry and Hermione talking during one of the tasks, and then Harry and Ron in their dress robes for the Yule Ball... omfg. Ron's robes are HORRID. *Dies laughing*
The third movie was pretty good, but it felt too rushed. My favorite part of it was the Shrieking Shack. Plus Gary Oldman makes the best Sirius ever. Wee!
Agreed. The Shrieking Shack was the best part of the film. I like the large use of clocks though. I found it interesting. Definitely the best of the films so far.
I'm really looking forward to the next film. The fourth book is definitely my favorite.
The fourth book is my favorite, too. I'm afraid the movie won't do justice to the book, though. The books are getting longer and longer, making it harder to squeeze one book into a movie! I can't wait until July 16th!

The 6th will probably be shorter than the 5th, according to Rowling.
At last!
a few days after the b-day, but a definate present! Hooray!
I'm definitely worried about the fourth book - I wish they'd split it up into two movies and I don't see why they didn't - didn't Kill Bill teach anyone that double the movie equals double the profit? (Likely more!)
Any speculation on who doesn't make it to the end of the 6th book? Now that Sirius is dead, I'm almost numb. Killing Hagrid might finish me off though.
But we never saw a body... Don't write Sirius off just yet...

Oh, Tiff- your comment reminded me. Supposedly a lot of important clues to the backstory of this whole thing are in Chamber of Secrets, and a lot of the stuff in the 6th book was originally supposed to be in the second. Take from that what you will. :)
I'm still reading the fourth one. I can't seem to get into it... I used to imagine them all naked, but now that I'm 18 it just seems wrong... Updated On: 12/21/04 at 03:48 PM
Yay! I'm so excited- I read the last one in under a day- I literally could not put it down. I was reading during dinner, refused to take phone calls... I was truly obsessed.
All I have to say is that JK has a big plot twist/hole to fix by book 7, and that is (spoiler below)

The order in which the spirits came out of the wand didn't coincide with the story of the death of Harry's parents..

There's a whole lot of clearing-up to be done about that night, and I don't doubt it'll get done.

Actually, Craig, that was a mistake on the editors part. If you buy Goblet of Fire now, it has been fixed.
I can't wait! four days after my birthday!!!
Really? Is that a mistake in only the US editions, or do the UK/Canadian editions have that error too?
I'm dreading and looking forward to re-reading the five books again. I'm looking forward to it for obvious reasons, but dreading it because I know it'll consume me for 2 or 3 days straight where I won't shower, won't watch TV, won't eat, won't answer the phone or go out, will only wallow in my stale flatulated air in my bedroom, and I'll emerge a pasty, greasy, bags-laden trembling albino.
I've only read OotP twice. I can't seem to get through it more than that because I can't stand reading Sirius di-- .. d... *SOBS*
I found out in the worst way. I started reading at 1am, was about 2/3 done, took a break from 8am-10am to work at the climbing gym. To make conversation with the kids I go, "So has anyone started reading the new Harry Potter!" "Uh-huh! Sucks that Sirius dies, huh?" "W-W-W-WHAT????"
Yeah. Bummer. I won't be leaving my house in July 16 until I'm FINISHED.
