What was the point of the song? Why did artists at the time thought to write such tragic songs. I remember as kids there was this rumour going around that it was true, etc. I never found out what the real meaning was, if any.

JG - Wow - impressive.

Sorry about the Emily comment, which I already deleted.

My nine year old has such a good ear that while listening so Songs for a New Worled, she noted that it was the singer (Jessica Mcloskey (sp) from On the Record.

I was a theatre major and now only sing on Sundays.

Kudos to your daughter! Jessica has a very distinctive voice, it's great that she picked up on that.
