Coincidentally, when Tobey was hedging out for more money before signing for Spiderman2, the producers threatened to hire Jake in his stead (who was also dating Kirstin Dunst at the time)...

And the funny thing is Gyllenhaal almost got to play Spiderman in the sequel when Maguire was stalling on signing, suppoesdly due to back problems. He was dating Kirsten Dunst at the time. That said, I think Jake is a hottie! And Tobey isn't too bad either.

Yep, that's the guy. I didn't realize Jake was up for Spiderman. He would have been a good choice. I orginally thought Jake's headshots were attractive, older in appearance...but after seeing him in Day After Tomorrow, I was couldn't view him as anything more than a high school prom type. He comes off very young. His acting, at least in that was not impressive either. Lukewarm, to me.
I'll tell you who did impress me was the young man who also played in Spiderman as Willam DeFoe's son ( sorry,...I'm dog tired and can't think). Now that kid was talented and handsome.... im my opinion.

James Franco, who I concur, is fantastic. Did you see him in the James Dean TV biopic? Great.
Jake G's shaved head - NOT. I don't mind him, but I prefer Maggie if we're talking about acting ability. (I just saw Secretary for the first time last night - great acting. Twisted but compelling premise.)
