Oh, definitely. In my case I was careful, but I also let the parents know I wasn't going to waste my time working with parents who assumed that other people could fix their problems. It's also sad that people assume the world is their personal nanny unless you inform them otherwise.
Alice hates doing stuff differently. She's set in her ways, like that miserable radio guy. They all look like they're about to cry and/or go postal.

I am very sorry Jamie Oliver stole your tv show.
>>but I always found the Naked Chef show to be false advertsiment. He could have at least been clad only in an apron or something. A fully clothed chef was not what I initally tuned in for.
Why did he call it the Naked Chef?

Naked refers to the way the food is cooked.
I actually don't mind Alice. I just think she is so brainwashed of what she thinks is right. I feel like there will be a big turn around with her, since they've been focusing on her. So, I will be tuning in to see.
I just want to punch that radio dj in his puffy eyed FACE!
Yeah, I think the purpose of the show is to bring the uninformed around to Jamie's way of thinking. Should be interesting to see it happen!
"If you say "fat-tongued Mockney see-you-next-Tuesday*" to almost any British person, they will instantly know you're talking about Jamie Oliver."
Your 'avin a larf arntcher?
'ow'd ya like a li'le muff, mistah, we'll go jig-jig, a li'le bounce around the bush ...
I really like the term "Mockney." Hadn't heard that one before.
Now if we could only come up with one for the faux-British set, like Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow, and one for the faux-NY accents, too many to name.

Didn't Jamie seem a little-- chubby for someone who spends all his time telling people how to eat healthy?
I think he's just putting on a little weight with age. He used to be too skinny in my opinion.
I didn't notice that he was chubby, but do you have to be thin in order to be healthy?
I think you have to be thin to tell other people to be thin.
Is he telling other people to be thin?
I'd punch him in the throat if he was.

Is the message getting out? During dinner as my wife was listing the new eating rules in the house, my 11 year old son said: "Mom, don't go all Jamie Oliver on us!"
As another Brit I must defend our little Mockney
Jamie did this in the UK with School dinners with quite a degree of success-obviously not single handed but he helped give government initatives moving and it's had a real impact on a lot of schools, yes there was backlash from some-mothers handing junkfood over the school fence in some cases!!
I'm intrigued to see how the reaction compares in the US-hopefully we'll get to see the show over here too.
And yes he's a little chubby round the edges but he's by no means obese, he's also over 30 and not (to my knowledge) eating pizza for breakfast!
I was in London in around 2005 I think and that was when Jamie Oliver aired Jamie's School Dinners. Which was the show that Food Revolution is based on. It was a very interesting show to watch and as I was traveling around England I ended up catching the entire thing. I was upset that I wasn't able to catch the follow up, Return To School Dinners. But, still an interesting concept nonetheless and great to see that some of the problems that we have with our public school food are problems that they have as well in England.
Sooner or later - so why the Jamie backlash in the UK? I can't see what he's doing that's bad.

He seems to be thinner than everyone in West Virginia.

I saw him on Larry King last night and retract my bitchy statement. i think I was just surprised- in his previous show he was REALLY lean and now he's not.
Being around food all the time has got to be a challenge. A lot of chefs have structured exercise programs.
Well, I'll take him even if he is a little chubby!
He's trying to teach the kids healthier ways of eating so that they will not be obese and that they'll live a longer and healthier life. Not telling anyone to be thin. that's for runway modelling 101!

I thought his face looked fullish, but you figure that cameras add ten pounds as it is. It doesn't change the fact that Americans get totally up in arms and defensive you suggest that perhaps their eating habits might be improved.

I am still reeling that fourth graders didn't know how to use a knife and form. Honestly, when they showed that the elementarily kids didn't know how to eat with utensils was when I joined Team Jamie.

I wasn't aware there was that much of a backlash other than some people find him a bit annoying-in the same way we all have people on tv we find a bit annoying!
I agree, chubby face or no he can cook( and do whatever else he likes) at my place anytime!
