REALLY? What are they thinking and why?
What? I must have missed something.
....?
Tina Yothers ... REALLY?
LOL, I'm glad I'm not the only one going "Whaaaaat?"
Is this in reference to her being on Glee?

I think SNAFU is referring to the fact that Jennifer will be hosting SNL when it returns on the 27th.
Yes exactly! Not only is she the host but the Musical Guest. Must miss television!
The last thing she was good in... rather the ONLY thing she was good in was Selena. IMO she is not a very good actress.

@snafu: Truer words have never been posted here. I'll let you in on another "open secret". She's a wretched singer in two languages. Jen should thank her lucky stars that she grew up in NYC. She wouldn't have gained traction anywhere else. That aside, I luv her to death. She mos def's been on the grind and can dance her fine booty off.
I thought her dog finally killed someone.
She's hosted before, and was musical guest. I thought she did a decent job. Well, at least I loved the Mango sketch.
I love some of her movies, but my favorite thing she did were her guest spots on Will & Grace. I laugh so hard every time I watch them.

She was great as Selena, but she was also great in "Out of Sight" with George Clooney.
Not that I'm a huge fan or anything. But she was very good in that movie.
I never understood the hate for the film GIGLI. I saw it after the reviews came out and was excited to see something truly craptacular that I would be able to make fun of with my friends for years to come. But watching it, (it's no masterpiece) but it's far from being "one of the worst movies ever made". I've seen it a few times over the years and still don't get the hate for it. I think it was one of those movies the critics decided to destroy before it even opened and while not a lot of people have seen it, a lot of people claim they hate it.
@JordanC: I think that was JLO was somewhat overexposed at the time of GIGLI's premier and was experiencing a backlash akin to the one that Beyonce is undergoing currently. Movie studios, record labels, magazine publishers, including tabloids, and publicists shove these celebrities down our throats with tons of fodder unrelated to their craft. There in lies the problem.
Their dating habits, egos, signature merchandise, and award show appearances eclipse their artistry prompting those with discerning tastes to start maligning them at every turn. Then, the critics turn on them. Today, every tidbit pop/rap star and celebrutante has a fragrance line out. Collectively, they've cheapened the "star" brand.
It was also that it starred her and Ben. Bennifer is all ANY of the magazines were writing on.
The show was awful. Also, had I been Jennifer Lopez I would have refused to do so many Hispanic skits. I nearly fell asleep. The only thing that actually made me laugh out loud was "I'm effin Martha Stewart". All this time off and this is all they could come up with?
I don't know what it is about her that I dislike so much, but I just do not like her at all.
Stockard, you and me both. I found her singing atrocious and hard to listen to and I find her acing just a step above that.
Though I will say I liked her in Besos y Lagrimas. For some reason that sketch when done always makes me crack up.
I am kind of in the middle with her. I actually liked the second song she sang and kept thinking the studio version probably sounds better. She was a little off key but was pretty much hitting those high notes.
Is the Bescos skitl the car horn skit? I was actually on when I was posting and it was kinda funny.
No Bescos y Lagrimas is the Latino Soap opera. I loved Tina Tina's car horns. "Beep Beep coming to your house, Jesus"
eta, She did a lot better hitting the notes for the air show then she did for dress. It was like nails on a chalk board.
Dear God. I went to a critically well-received experimental theater piece in Williamsburg where they were soooooo hipster they served Pabst Blue Ribbon...and then came home to watch JLo as host and musical guest of SNL.
It was like yesterday was an entire time warp back to 2000. And not in a good way.
You guys should just be lucky they cut the skit where she was a group fitness instructor who turned into a werewolf. It was painful to watch.
