Some friends and I were talking about Jessica's acting career (she was in Chorus Line in HS, among other things). Angi mentioned that Jessica might try and be Glinda. What do you guys think?

I think this has been discussed already, but I would say Jessica's hot the voice for Glinda - problem is she sounds horrible live. (Sounds like it runs in the family...hmm...) So I would say *in theory* she'd be good, but *in reality* it would be a nightmare. Plus can you imagine the wardrobe malfunctions that would inevitably occur when she's lying upside down on her bed during Popular? Oy.

She would have been a hoot as Ulla in the Producers movie.

I have no interest whatsoever in her singing/music. However, from what I've seen of her "dumb-blonde" act, I think she could be successful if she found the right vehicle.

I think she does have comedic talent and if she worked on it, she could take it far.

I think the idea of her doing a variety show was good. I could also see her in a well-written sitcom.

(I'm in NO WAY comparing the amount of talent between the two, but.....) She could be the next Lucy/Carol/Mary with something of quality behind her.

Actually, she would have been funny as Ulla. More shapely for the role, too. lol

I am a fan of both, Jessica and Ashlee. I love Jessica's voice and I love Ashlee's music. I personally don't think that Ashlee is as bad as people make her out to be. At all. I feel that Jessica, however, has an acting skill hidden in there somewhere that we just haven't seen yet. Same thing with Alicia Keyes and Christina Aguilera.

I'd see her as Glinda, but can she reach all the notes?

I get lost, unless, of course, I'm getting found.

broadway86 - Yeah, I like Jessica's voice, and Ashlee's not too bad (I'm more into Ashlee's type of music than Jessica's) - I'm just saying they don't sound too hot live.

Her voice can be powerful...maybe Elphaba.

jessica simpson does have a powerful voice no doubt.
but can she conserve it and give her all 8 performances a week is the key.
i think jessica as "ulla" in "the producers" is inspired casting..

I love Jessica Simpson! She is better than Starbucks!!

"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer

"I broke the boundaries. It wasn't cool to be in plays- especially if you were in sports & I was in both." - Ashton Kutcher

starbucks?

but I'd be curious...if she does do Glinda...to see how she does.

Better Jessica than the Duff girl.

But that's just my own opinion.
