Homophobia in ice skating? Apparently, Johnny Weis is not 'family friendly' enough for the producers on Stars on Ice. You can sign an online petition asking them to reconsider.

I would like to congratulate Mr. Weir for being so gay that he is deemed too gay to appear in a MOTHERFING FIGURE SKATING TOUR!!
People have lost their minds.
I have read that attendance at this tour has been down the past couple of years. I hope Weir doesn't do it. They don't deserve the revenue he would pull in.

So now Weir is "more gay" than Rudy Galindo? Did they even see his "Colors of the Wind" routine?

This seems to be just speculation and not the given reason for him not being included. I will sign if they actually say that is why he is not on the tour and he wants to be included. Maybe he can't do it.

Thanks for posting.

I'm signer number 5,700!

Fox News makes me think of Bill O'Reily and Sarah Palin...so it's not too suprising.

Do they still do "Champions on Ice"? I always liked that tour more than "Stars on Ice".

Do they still do the Ice Capades? I used to LOVE the Ice Capades. I think I'm gay because my mother took me to see them every year when I was a kid.

Ice Capades went out of business in 1995...a few years after they fired Scott Hamilton. After he was fired, Stars on Ice was formed around him as the star along with Dorothy Hamill. Hamilton is still a producer and Chris Dean is the resident Choreog.

Champions on Ice went out of business in 2008.

(I just wiki'd them.)

Weir should just do a solo tour. He would sell by himself. He can invite his personal friends & mentors to open for him.

Better yet -- Gaga/Weir. Fall 2010. A dual figure skating & live concert extravaganza! It couldn't possibly get any gayer!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
