Love him. I wish he would have asked Huckabee, "In what way would gay marriage impact your life?"

Watching The Daily Show last night I actually thought "how long till this is posted on BWW?"
Huckabee came off looking like an out of date moron.

Rachel is too polite.
I don't think Jon Stewart gives a crap on how he's seen.
Really need to watch this later, since while Huckabee couches his hate in a folksy, puppy-dog eyed package, it stll doesn't hide the fact that he's one smarmy bastard.

It's impolite to ask a guest about his views; especially when those views are backed up in the book he's shilling?
ETA: And Jon Stewart was nothing but polite.

I just think Rachel treads lightly sometimes so as not to offend.
I have no doubt Jon was polite, but he also doesn't seem to care if he does piss someone off.

No, she doesn't press Huck on the gay issues because she thinks it is uninteresting.

Although I usually agree with the old adage of not bringing up politics, religion or sexuality at family gatherings, that is a point I've actually made to extended family members who bring up the issue.
It makes them squirm...which depending on the relative can be kinda fun.

LOVE. HIM. (Jon, not Mike Huckabee, obvs. haha)
"Religion is far more of a choice than homosexuality"
I don't think I've ever heard it put that way before, and I think that's a brilliant way to say it! I've definitely going to start using that. Because it's SO true :)
also, "I would suggest that a loving gay family with a financially secure background beats the hell out of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline"
*gives a virtual standing ovation*

Mr. Stewart is brilliant and my hero!
And, ftr, I know plenty of non-outraged trans folk.

I like Huck, but like the Republican Party, he's gotta get with the times.
I mean, if homosexuality is wrong in the eyes of God, and that is the reason for not supporting it, let God judge, rather than man. Homosexuals should be given all of the same rights, and it's so.. well, just stupid not to think so.

I like Huck
You're an idiot, so that's to be expected.

I bet since I'm a Republican, you think that I'm a homophobe too. Wanna throw that label on me? You really don't have any basis for your attacks, my friend.
Thanks for being an ass!

Posted: 12/11/08 at 3:38amIf you vote for a homophobe i have no reason to believe you aren't one yourself. If you support people with homophobic policies then i have every right to believe you are a homophobe. When you say "I like Huck", no amount of immediate backpedaling takes that away. Huck, as you so lovingly refer to him is a fat headed, mean spirited, unapologetic homophobe. He literally thinks that the world would be a better place if there were no homosexuals. When you support a man who thinks those things, I have EVERY intention of believing you agree.

There is more to the man than this issue. As for having every intention of believing that I agre.. well, did you even read the rest of my post? Have you read my other posts? Obviously, I don't agree. You'd think that from me saying that I don't agree, that it would be clear that I didn't agree. No? Not clear enough. Okay, I don't agree.
Stop trying to pick fights.
