Although I usually agree with the old adage of not bringing up politics, religion or sexuality at family gatherings, that is a point I've actually made to extended family members who bring up the issue.

It makes them squirm...which depending on the relative can be kinda fun.

I like Huck, but like the Republican Party, he's gotta get with the times.

If you vote for a homophobe i have no reason to believe you aren't one yourself. If you support people with homophobic policies then i have every right to believe you are a homophobe. When you say "I like Huck", no amount of immediate backpedaling takes that away. Huck, as you so lovingly refer to him is a fat headed, mean spirited, unapologetic homophobe. He literally thinks that the world would be a better place if there were no homosexuals. When you support a man who thinks those things, I have EVERY intention of believing you agree.
