re: Jose - How About .....A NYC Picnic

My personal preference is for a Thursday late afternoon and evening. It stays light late.

No matter what when it is, there will always be someone who will have a problem with whatever date is selected.

But I'm going with the flow.

We can always make it in mid-July, if June dates are problematic.

re: Jose - How About .....A NYC Picnic

OK, I'm going to bite the bullet and officially suggest that we change the date to Saturday, June 25th. It isn't setting well with me, holding a BWW event that conflicts with the Gay Pride Parade. Since I originally suggested the original date, I might as well be the one to suggest the change.

Any problems of a community nature with having the picnic on Saturday, June 25th? Anyone?

If not, lets switch.

Can't do it - was going to rush back into town to make the 26th.

The 26th is most likely better for me as well.

Im not sure about any dates yet but curious as to why we'd have the picnic in an area of central park with so many 'DONTs'? Good I guess cuz then nobody else will be playing music we all might hate but I dont know that quiet exactly described the group at the last gathering, but being sober might make a difference too...

Mistress, I think it makes it a little more "user friendly" as far as including the younger posters...

Any thoughts on Saturday vs Sunday? Does it matter if the picnic conflicts with the Pride parade? I tend to think maybe "yes", given how many gay board member there are. But being neither gay nor a parade-goer, I'd rather that people affected by the scheduling conflict be the ones to decide if it matters or not.

This picnic sounds like a great idea. If it 's a success can you pinpoint a date next year to repeat it? That way those of us on other continents, interstate or whatever can make plans to be over there next time. I will lead the small, but dedicated Australian contingent!

Awwww...I'll be out of state June 24 until July 4th. re: Jose - How About .....A NYC Picnic Can't we do it either July 9th or 10th? We can also celebrate my belated B-Day too...LOL !!!

re: Jose - How About .....A NYC Picnic

I would prefer sometime in July. Like the weekends of (Friday)7/22 or 7/29.

Too much is happening in June as it is.

Moving to late July avoids the holiday/special day conflicts

I personally appreciate having more notice - hopefully, July will work for a lot of folks... Jose, you have the patience of a saint...

hahahaha. MASH was great show.

As I said, with more notice, we could get, hopefully, more people to attend and July is after all of the award season stuff as well.. not to mention bway bares!

Boobs, Fireworks? You bet your boobies. Besides, didn't you and I already prove that fireworks happen whenever we're together?

Oooops! Did I say that?

Late July would increase the possibility of the NW contingent making an appearance... and no conflicts with pride...
