Jose - How About ..... A NYC Picnic

.....either a sit down dinner and/or an actual show since we are involved in Broadway as our next venture

I suggest a picnic. Designate a spot, a time, and a raindate. Easy to plan, no age restrictions, and the only cost is the price of the food you choose to bring.

re: Jose - How About .....

Both are good ideas Rox, but both have some downsides, to my way of thinking...

Dinner is difficult with a large group. The cost per person mounts very quickly with drinks; everyone attending would have to be williing to share equally in the total bill, not just based on what one had to eat/drink (because of the headaches involved in the end-of-eveingin calculations). In addition it is difficult to socialize with everyone at the table.

Show if a bit more problematic because everyone is interested in theatre. It's hard to find a show that few people have not seen, or a willing to see again. Added to that is the price of tickets and where those might be located. Not everyone enjoys theatre from the same perspective (area of the theatre). There is also the fact that while it might be a group, socializing at the theatre is very limited (pre- & post-curtain, and Intermission).

It's not that neither are doable. I see them are less than ideal for a large group of people with disparate levels of discretionery income.

Other opinions on Rox's suggestions? Or, other ideas?

I will bring the charcoal & the Mrs. If everyone kicked in a nominal sum, it would cover the cost of the food etc. Count me & the Mrs in

I think a "bring your own" picnic is the way to go. Have someone bring charcoal and a grill for "community usage", maybe, but other than that, lets keep it low key and simple.

Just a thought, do they still do the Concerts in the Park during the summer? I remember coming in several times to hear the 1812 Overature complete with fireworks. That might be a great day for which to plan a picnic.

And I, for one, would LOVE a chance to meet the fabled Mrs. Roxy.

A BYOB (Bring Your Own Basket) Picnic is great idea!

Central Park does not allow grilling however (concern for fires), nor alcoholic beverages.

Still, we could have a very enjoyable time in the Park.

Then, those that want can fire up (cigars, cigarettes, whatever) and get lit on some alcohol after the picnic.

Jose'- I think we should have a formal dinner party at your pad.

Can the establishment of an official BWW Entertainment Committee (NYC div.) be far off?

re: Jose - How About .....

I'd be up for a picnic in the park!

Would we be able to do a picnic/extended lunch hour at one of the broadway in bryant park days? I know it's a Thursday though, and people have school/work.

Maybe a meetup for Broadway under the Stars?
