Saw ABT Le Corsaire at The Chicago Lyric Opera House last night.
ABT - looking good. Carenno looking great!

Love him in Swan Lake too - perfect prince but I love him more in Corsaire.

Nope but I watched Swan Lake from backstage at the MET two or three summers ago and he is genuinely sweet.
Gorgeous dancer. Gorgeous profile.

last year we were planning a trip to NYC that would have included two ABT performances with carreno in at least one of them ... but the trip fell through maybe this year ...

Don't try to pretend that there are no gay daddies in the ballet world. I know two very well. But that's not the point of this thread.
I just think Jose Manuel is beautiful and well worth his bravos.

Jose, is one of those rare talents that lights up the stage by just standing in place.

Yes, I saw that, Dottie.
I know Angel guest principals with the Royal Ballet and others.
Would be nice if he were in NYC more...
And by the way, a lady from my church who is in her 70's, yet still attractive (she used to model), when Jose was near her in a hallway (she volunteers for ABT) he bent over and exposed the back of his neck.
She just seized the opportunity and kissed Jose on the back of his neck, telling him old ladies could get away with that.
She said he just smiled and laughed and that he's a sweetheart.
Another tidbit. When he first came to NYC and took up with one of the ballarinas (she may be his wife now for all I know) my friend said she never danced better in her life.
Guess she had a little inspiration.
