did anyone have objections when SNL Fred Armisten did blackface on SNL? if so i can understand cuz i thought it was ridiculous, but if you dont, is it because hes not Morman? or a man? honestly trying to understand.

merman.. lol... seriously, since im accused of being insensitive im trying to be more understanding carlos. you already know how i am sensitive toward American Indian issues.

also i could not understand why he was doing it when jay pharoh was on the show already. and jay from the start showed he was a master imitator. Fred was HORRIBLE.

Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.

Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.

When will people understand that blackface is highly offensive and unacceptable? Not anytime soon if this past weekend's fresh crop of racially insensitive getups is any indication.

First there was actress Julianne Hough's misguided blackfaced Halloween costume of Crazy Eyes from Netflix's "Orange Is the New Black."

But she isn't the only one who thought painting themselves black was a good idea. A slew of fashion insiders and taste makers made the mistake of wearing blackface to a Halloween party in Italy -- including famed fashion designer Allesandro Dell’Acqua.

No understanding at all. They just think they're being "wild" and "outrageous."

They try to come up with a costume that will make everybody freak out. They don't care why.

How about a Nazi with a bunch of concentration camp victims. Shocking!

How about Jerry Sandusky and a bunch of little boys in a shower?

How about a bloody Princess Diana with a steering wheel coming out of her head?

How about two brown-painted fat guys with three young women, all tied up, pregnant, and beaten?

Halloween is FUN, right? It's about scaring and shocking people.

So everybody wins!

i cant tell you how many scantily clad porno nuns, naked popes i have seen at the NY Halloween Parade. I dont like it, and it doesnt offend me cuz its all in fun and not with malice. i wouldnt want them banned from the parade.
