I'm guessing there was originally substantial banter between TD's post and Jordan's post? Is that what was scrubbed?? Such a shame, if so. Wouldn't it be nice if the Moderators had to disclose a reason any time they mysteriously cleaned up a thread?

from everything ive seen and heard she is genuinely a nice person. whether you think it outragous or not is certainly up for debate but i dont think anyone could say there was any hate or mocking involved. She is probably a person who is colorblind, who doesnt see color and therefore was not aware that it could be offending. I can understand that.

I havent heard the actress she portrayed, or the creator of the character have expressed outrage or condemned her. they would be the ones to consider most.

This is a friend's boyfriend, who went as Robert Downey Jr. as Kirk Lazarus as Sergeant Lincoln Osiris in Tropic Thunder. Would this be in bad taste even though Downey's character, Lazarus, is actually white, but his character in the movie-within-a-movie, Osiris, is supposed to be black? (This is also in Massachusetts.)

I'd say yes. It's a very obscure plot point in a movie. So, I am sure that most people won't get it and would be understandably offended.
