As of a year ago, he had sold 15 million albums and became the first artist to have seven songs from a debut record to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. He must be doing something right. I'm not really familiar with him as an artist, but just sayin'. And as to his unfortunate remark about Anne Frank, he's a kid. I don't think he meant it in a bad way, did he?

I think you meant "than" him. And he said he "hoped" she would have been a fan, not she "would" have been a fan. And you probably meant "of mine." But I don't have a dog in this fight because I'm really not familiar with the kid's work, but it doesn't seem to me that he meant anything malicious.

Yes, what he did right is to be born pretty, have a stage mother, appeal to preteens, and hire good handlers. If you were familiar with him as an artist, you'd know that. Lots of borderline talents follow the same path. Good for them.

True Carlos, but maybe people made a big deal of it because it isn't just "oh, the kid made a faux pas, etc.". No, this kid is constantly getting into some scrape. He needs to do something exemplary for a change. Maybe that's why he went to Frank's house. who knows.

It really shouldn't take THAT much maturity and understanding to realize that signing the guestbook at the Anne Frank house isn't the time to make things all about you. But I read Anne Frank's diary when I was in the fifth grade, so what do I know?

This kid has major influence over his rabid fans. That's my issue with how he acts. I was an idiot at 19, but I grew out of it. I also don't have millions of fans who are willing to shave their heads because if a cancer rumor.
Because he made it all about him, and didn't focus on the experience of being there, or any other mention of the Holocaust, shows how self centered the beat really is. I didn't think I could respect him any less but now I know.
Last I read he posted shirtless pictures instead of an apology.
