Running in Place makes me happy. (It also makes me drive fast.)
Xsao Radio broke on me, and now I can't listen to Steel Pier nor I Do! I Do!
It's really quite a tragedy.

Big expressive eyes that carry to the back of a house as sure as her voice does.
She's been nominated for a Tony every time she's been eligible, except once - for the flop TEDDY AND ALICE.

Her voice has grown amazingly over teh past 15 years. Her 2nd act solo in NEVER GONNA DANCE blows the back wall off the theatre!
I'm thinking she's ready to play Momma Rose. She'd put squeaky, wheezy Ms. Peters to shame.
I am appalled that you think the youthful and exuberant La Ziemba can play old enough to be Momma Rose.
She could however, bump it with a trumpet.

At the beginning of GYPSY, Rose is the mother of two small children. In the last scene, her daughter is in her mid 20's. Karen Ziemba is 47.
Hell, Andrea McArdle played Rose in Texas last summer - she's 42!
Jon, Fishie wasn't questioning her actual age, but the age she can play. She doesn't believe Ziemba is ready for that role quite yet.
She was fantastic in Law and Order: CI.
We eagerly await Tx's review of this evening's Kander and Ebb Tribute at TUTS...
This one time, I was in love with this fantastic Broadway Actress...and her name was Karen Ziemba.

Well, LF, Ms. Z. is certainly nothing if not lovable.
Well, I want to be like her when and if I grow up.
Stripper pole, italian restaurant and all.
Only...I'll have blonde hair.

Quite a noble goal indeed. Believe me.
Well, except for the stripper pole part.

I love Karen Ziemba. I hope The Opposite of Sex comes to Broadway next season. She belongs back on the Broadway stage.
Appreciating La Ziemba is hard work.
But, dear God, is it worth it.

From David Noh's column in the current Gay City News, reporting on Keely Smith's opening at Feinstein's at the Regency:
"An ebullient Karen Ziemba bounced over to me and said, “I saw you dancing away in your chair to her! I had never seen her before and hope she didn’t take offense by what I told her. I said I’d grown up listening to my parents play her records.” Not to worry, Keely’s strictly touchy-feely, not touchy, which is why we adore her. Ziemba told me she’ll play Sally in The Barrington Stage Company’s production of “Follies” this summer, with Donna McKechnie and Jeff McCarthy."
Please, twinnie, is the shot with Brent Barrett from THE PAJAMA GAME?
Yes, my twinster, it is. Good eye.
