Married for 21 years to the handsome and charming Bill Tatum. They have no children together, but she is close to her step-son, the handsome and charming Will Tatum. Also a very cute dog named MacDuff. Bill and Karen live in a lovely co-op on the upper West Side, and have a vacation home on the Jersy shore that's a converted boathouse. Bill is an actor who used to be a regualr on a soap opera. Now he mostly does stage work. He also enjoys golf. Bill and Karen met dong an Equity Library Theatre production of the musical SEESAW. He was the lead, she was in the chorus. He was married at the time, and, according to her, she resisted the attraction and they didn't get involved until he was divorced.
For lots of good stuff, check out her website..

Good lord, Jon, all you left out was her mother's maiden name and a urine sample.

Her mother's maiden name, and much more, can be found in the book BROADWAY STORIES, by Marty Bell, where she is the subject of an entire chapter called "Leading Lady".
Amusing anecdotes about her sex life can be found in the October 1984 issue of PLAYBOY.
Anyone going?
Karen Ziemba to Star in Kander and Ebb's Skin of Our Teeth, June 15-17
That is the best picture I have ever seen in my entire life.
I love that performance, Beav. LOVE it.
I think I might have to have a Ziemba moment to cheer myself up since that sick mofo Michael Jackson is a free man.
Fishie, apparently you have three chances to have a live one this week.
*bump* for the Playbill article
Alas Rath, I would love to drive to NJ and have a live Ziemba moment, but I cannot drive, and no one will want to go with me. I guess my Steel Pier cd will just have to work overtime...
Well, hopefully someone will go and report back.
thanks for getting me up to speed on ziemba Jon.
my next question would be from where is the last name ziemba derived?

Without taking time to re-read BROADWAY STORIES, I seem to recall that Ziemba is of German origin.
By the way, for a while in the early 1990's- at least when she did WORLD GOES ROUND, Karen had them put the little "accent mark" over the "E" in Ziemba in playbills, posters, etc. I guess so folks would jknow it was "Zee-EM-ba" as opposed to "ZEEM-ba" or "ZIME-ba"

Does this picture make anyone else smile? How come we can never keep the Karen love on the first page?
Perhaps they should have put that little accent on the Tony nomination teleprompter to help out Mr. Joel last year.
No no Rath, that wouldn't have helped...he's just stupid.
