with some inadvertent research, i have found that McKechnie has been engaged to play Carlotta ("I'm Still Here") Campion (sp? and at least i think that's what Carlotta sings).
Phyllis is to be the gorgeous and talented Leslie Denniston (most recent NIGHT MUSIC at Goodspeed, Catherine on the taped version of PIPPIN from DC, and god-help-her Blanche for TUTS version of BABY JANE THE MUSICAL). This lady can act and sings very well, but though she looks like a dancer, i'm not sure she's that type of former showgirl like Alexis was. She also usually plays "good girls", so this will be a nice challenge. She's truly beautiful, wonderful cheekbones.
This remains a FOLLIES cast i'd love to see. For the women alone. And that regional has a very good reputation.

Just relax.Everyone needs to know that Karen and I will be the next Elphaba and Glinda on Broadway. So stop pondering over her next career move. Wayne Cilento already promised to cut out Defying Gravity and replace it with a long instrumentalized Ballet. Its going to be sweet.
We start July 5th 2005, so get your tickets now, because its going to be HOT HOT HOT.

I would like to see KZ as Anna in THE RINK. She's exactly the right age for it, and could sing and dance it (dare I even say it?) as well as Chita.

Posted: 6/3/05 at 10:09pmI don't think anyone is going to revive THE RINK anywhere...but wooo for Karen and her "slink"-y Fastrada!

Posted: 6/4/05 at 12:55pmActually, someone DID revive THE RINK recently - we did it at our theatre three years ago. We had a real life mother and duaghter in the leads. It went rather well. Terrence McNally did some script revisions for a production in the late 1990's, and we got a hold of the new script.

Posted: 6/4/05 at 1:01pmThat's very cool. I would love to see a production sometime. I really like the score.

Posted: 6/4/05 at 7:41pmi like that score as well. Just think, if you lived in Houston, you could have seen La Ziemba and Goddess Rivera together on one stage for the Kander & Ebb tribute. Chita sang from THE VISIT, did anyone see that?

Lovebird, I'm feeling blue
Lovebird, we should be two
How can we have, love seed to grow?
When I'm alone, and feeling so low
Solo...
I think my esteem and affection is present enough.
