Well, even though X-Mas has come and gone, I am still in the giving spirit! I've had SO MANY requests for this over the years, that I am finally doing it:
I'm posting an episode of Theatre Corner with Stephen Ferguson where I will talk about, IN DETAIL, my personal "Scat" singing techniques.
For those of you who have been waiting forever for this, you're welcome! And for those who are just fans of "Scat" style singing, you're ALSO welcome!
Happy Holidays to all, and as always,
Keep dancin' across those boards,

I do not even think I have a brown bandana.
I smell scat crap...

OMG Phyllis! If only I could pull something like that off! I'm too bashful to take my tee shirt off at the local public pool!
This is too much fun. I feel like we're all at a slumber party! Who's going to fall asleep first? Better watch out for Mrs. Ben Stone or you might wake up with "Lloyd Webber Fan" written in black Sharpie across your forehead!
How to Scat
I personally learned to scat from the Predator :)

I hadn't clicked on any of the links but did on this one, didn't watch it but did watch the episode on body image issues. I laughed a lot. Like most of these webisodes that people produce it's about 1/3 too long. I understand that compression is hard to do when you're working in video and you can shoot all the time you want. It's a common problem with these satirical videos. Still, I laughed.
If I'm not mistaken, that last comment almost sounded like a COMPLIMENT! And, compared to most commentary here, a GLOWING one, at that!
FindingNamo, I am honestly and truly flattered that you watched one of my videos and laughed. All joking and bits aside, it means a tremendous amount. Thank you.
Now... How about the rest of you!?

I think you're funny and loved the make-up in the body image bit. I also think you're trying a little too hard and your segments are a little too long. Be advised, if you are not already aware, that the use of "corner" 'round these parts conjures up "Corine's Corner", a poster here who is not much-beloved, so you're getting a little guilt by association there.
Good luck.
Ps: get another backdrop. The one you have looks like a shower curtain.

I think our little Borat-lite is kind of cute.

Took the words right out of my mouth, Phyl.
"I do not even think I have a brown bandana."
LOL! Are those still happening?
If you guys were here, you'd see I'm blushing!
Great notes, ghostlight. Maybe I'll take a trip to Michael's and try to find something in a smart, dark burgundy gaberdine?
I don't know this Corine, but my hope is that I'll RECLAIM "Corner," so you'll think of me instead!
Thanks for the support, you guys! I feel like I'm back in Thespians International all over again. Remember, if you like my videos, SUBSCRIBE and tell your pals! And if you don't, post photoshopped pictures of me here.

So far, you are just as annoying as Corine, so I don't think you are going to win anything back.
Come on now, TheatreDiva. If you're going to take swings, at least be as creative as Ms. Stone.
Photoshop my head on Florence Foster Jenkins or Philip J. Smith. Get inspired!
