For those of you who DO NOT have a washer/dryer in your house/apt, how much does your laundry cost?

When I drop mine off (someone else washes, dries, and folds and is back in about 6 hours), it is around $20.

I just decided to do it myself, and each load for wash and dry (provided it only goes through the dryer once) is $3.50 ($1.75 wash, same dry). Oy.

I pay about $7 for a full load (colors and whites) when I do it myself in London. That's one thing I absolutely won't miss.

Well mine isn't in my Apt, but it's in the basement of my building.

I pay $2.00 for each wash load and $1.75 for each dryer load.

In my first apartment, where I lived for two years, it was free. In my new place it is $1.50 for the laundry machine, and $1.25 for the dryer.

I also have my own washer/dryer inside my apartment and it is truly heaven not to have to lug that big bag back and forth to the laundromat weekly. Back when I did, I think it was roughly $16 to $18 for drop off service.

If I shimmy myself to the lobby, the washers are $2 a load, and the dryers are 50 cents for 20 minutes.

I'm very jealous of you guys with laundry in your apartment. At least mine is in the basement of my building.

And of course when I just went to get my clothes from the dryer, they aren't even close to dry, had to put in another $3.50 for a second go-round. *sigh*

I thank God every day for my ability to accesorize (sp?) and my washer and dryer. My partner says I am obsessive with the washer and dryer, because I am always using them......hmmmm

I will always remember the day the Sears delivered our Kenmore set in 1995 - what a day.

L - we do about 10-12 loads a week and spend $10-15 on shirts and dry cleaning. I do not iron, so anything that needs an iron goes out including C7's dress shirts.

I pay $1 a pound for my laundry (plus an extra $1 for fabric softener). I usually drop it off every two weeks, so it's about $30 each time for me.

I LOVE my laundry people. I drop it off before work, and pick it up on the way back. For one week's worth, they only charge me $6-$7, and it's all folded and rubber banded into seperate sections.

liotte, i feel your pain. when i lived in the city, i had to schlep my huge laundry bag 4 blocks, and then sit and wait 2 bloody hours while it washed and dried.

i miss living in downtown manhattan, but i thank my stars everyday for my laundry people! (and my cleaning lady, who only charges $30!!)

At my old apartment it was $1.00 wash, and a $1.25 dry.

Now I have in-unit machines and water is covered by my rent. Praise the lord.
