Barbra's "Jingle Bells" used to annoy the hell out of me yet I've managed to not hear it on the radio in years.
My sister, who went into a Carole King obsession the last couple of years (I blame the Gilmore Girls theme), disappointingly discovered her horrific Christmas album. Who knew the woman who wrote "Locomotion" could do such lifeless covers.
Neil Diamond's Christmas song, "You Make it Feel Like Christmas" is like a parody of a Neil Diamond Christmas song.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6cfM7yQMwo&noredirect=1 Looking back at the old thread, Little Drummer Boy is getting shellacked. I actually heard the German version of the song sung by Marlene Dietrich. I actually like it. It makes much more sense, then again it could be because of Dietrich.
Cyndi Lauper's "Christmas Conga" is in my so bad it is good category. It's a specific kind of Christmas song, for the drunks at an X-Mas party on all kinds of uppers, yet it is so infectious. But it also seems to be universally reviled, I've seen it on more than one 'Worst of...' list. I don't know. Cyndi has even done much better Christmas songs, her duet with The Hives in "A Christmas Duel" is incredibly underrated, but it's my guilty pleasure.
"I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas"- Oh dear. The precociousness of that child singer with her nasily vibratto.
