re: Letterman Makes Brokeback Joke :-(

OK -

I often edit my posts after the fact, realizing that what I typed and what I intended do not always match. I have far too often said things in haste I would never say had I thought a moment or two longer.

If we do not point the issue out when it is raised, then at somepoint, it no longer becomes an issue, which is why I was so concerned about your comment.

But, point taken, and I will let it go and leave it at that.

re: Letterman Makes Brokeback Joke :-(

When I read Namo's original post, I chuckled right along, thinking, "What a nice little satire on those who are taking this whole BROKEBACK thing so very seriously."

Then, the thread took off, and I tought, "Huh?" So I posted a little comment about sarcasm, but the thread kept right on going!

So then I went back to re-read the original post, because I HAVE been known to miss things completely, and for the first time actually tried to open the link he provided.

Then I thought, "Oh thank God, I haven't completely lost my mind!"

Well, not yet anyway.

re: Letterman Makes Brokeback Joke :-(

It doesn't do anything when you click it because there are three backlashes after the colon instead of the normal two. A typo, or one more cog in the machine that is the evil genius of Namo? You be the judge.

re: Letterman Makes Brokeback Joke :-(

I am using Firefox, where it is a normal link. I just opened IE, where it has three backslashes.
Simple error, or magnificent coding by the master?
I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

re: Letterman Makes Brokeback Joke :-(

CruelSandwich, you really need to quit it. Man. Your opinions aren't welcome on this very serious thread, with which you obviously disagree. FindingNamo is making a completely valid point that does no harm to you.

It's nice that you apologized, but just leave. Think before you speak in the future. And if that means your not speaking at all, then go right ahead and keep your mouth shut.

All FindingNamo's trying to do is make people aware of the hate that is continuing to be spread. I don't think preventing hate is a crime.

re: Letterman Makes Brokeback Joke :-(

I did wonder if perhaps different browsers might correct the problem, so actually you carried out my hypothesis without me having to do anything, which means you sort of read my mind, and that's kind of creepy. I hear you in my head now, whispering "Liar, Liar, Liar..." For the love of god, leave me be!

Is this a Brokeback joke too?

I'm with DG here. I would have thought anyone following Namo's contributions to the many many Brokeback threads would know that this was not a serious thread. Alas, I was wrong.
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

Is this a Brokeback joke too?

I, too, thought it was a satire of people who are taking the entire thing really seriously, considering Namo's stance on it, and all.

But then I saw the link and the size of the thread, and though I had lost my mind.

Maybe I have?

Is this a Brokeback joke too?

Do you think Namo goers to the official Brokeback site and logs in his "experiences along with thousands of others"?

Great. More hate.

I don't allow myself to be exposed to the poison of Michael Savage.

This thread is all worth it if it lead one person to understanding historical oppression.

Is this a Brokeback joke too?

I understood it to be a joke, until CS went off on Jews and Anti-Semitism, that I think clearly were not based upon facts, I had to jump in to correct his statements.

He just kept on digging himself deeper and deepr into holes, taking the whole thing seriously, and responding with statements.

As for Brokeback - I am one of the few who has not seen it yet, but I am already getting a little tired of the jokes - because they all have been done alreay.

But, I am not a Gay Cowboy living in Wyoming - I give Mr. Cheney a call to see what his daugter has to say on the film.

Is this a Brokeback joke too?

Do you know that as part of Mary Cheney's job as Coors' liaison to the LGB community (no T then) was to go around the country to gay and lesbian bars and get up on the bar with Mr. International Man of Leather and the two of them would talk about what Coors was doing for the LGB community.

Mary Cheney and Mr International Man of Leather... Think she'll have pics in her memoir?

No offense, but you sound like my parents talking about "the loud rock music band, The Led Zepplins."

Dunno - but I am sure there are times where she has played with Shrub's many cowboy hats!

Damn those arms of mine--ALWAYS at 10-and-2!
