She was also the lesbian on that wonderful Golden Girls episode. I saw that episode again last week on Lifetime.
I also remember a tv movie with her and Ida Lupino. It was a prison picture and Lois had gone undercover to investigate prison brutality. Lupino was the prison matron. I can't remember the name of it.

Yeah, Retro, that's it. I think it may have been an ABC TV Movie of the Week. If anyone else is old enough to remember those.

Do you know what happens when you let Veal Prince Orloff sit in an oven too long?

Mr. Roxy, I was just thinking the same thing. I would love to have some of those movies on DVD. I remember Ida giving it to Lois in the stomach with those prison keys. I can't believe I remember that movie. I know it was the early 70's.
I have always heard that Lois was a great Blanche DuBois.

I remember movies of the week, the million dollar movie in the afternoon, Mike Douglas, Dinah, and the wonderful Lois Nettleton. I hope the rumor is false.

I love Come Fly With Me......she was in many things
It is ridiculous to set a detective story in New York City. New York City is itself a detective story...

She was also in the film version of "Best Little Whorehouse In Texas." Her part was butchered during the editing process. Too bad that back then, no one thought to think of saving deleted scenes and musical numbers. A friend of mine was in the film, she was one of Mona's girls, and 3 big musical numbers were cut from the final film.

I just read another message board where people were discussing her death, but I can't find real confirmation.
Did anyone see her as Blanche?

On Talkingbroadway.com, there's a thread in the ALL THAT CHAT section that mentions a New York Times article. Was just on their site and there's nothing........nothing on New York Post, either.

I saw her play Desiree in a production of A Little Night Music in LA back in the mid eighties. I left at intermission.

I saw that...shall I say "unfortunate" production of A Little Night Music.
Glebb... you a smarter person than I am ... I DIDN'T leave at intermission and I still ache at the memory.

I skipped that production of "Night Music" in L.A., but I seem to remember she came in at the last minute to replace Lee Remmick, who had become terminally ill with cancer.

Best, I'm almost positive that's right about Remmick. I think John McMartin may have been in that. Not sure.

I can't access that video, sorry.
I'm thinking that Lee might have kept me in my seat until the final curtain but I just didn't like that production at all. Unless I'm blending some other production in with this one, Glynis Johns played Madame Armfeldt.
