I'm scared. I won't say why but for the past 90+ minutes I have been crying and I can't stop. I've never cried like this before - I've actually sobbed three different ways!
What is the longest you've cried?

I don't think I've ever cried that long straight, but there are some things that just thinking about them can make me cry, so who knows how many hours total I've cried over one thing.

About 12 hours. I would think I had it under control and then I would start sobbing again. That was when my grandmother died. The next closest was when my husband left to be stationed overseas for a year. I wasn't going able to see him at all for that time. After he left I cried for about 4 or 5 hours til I wore myself out and fell asleep.
Normally if I get upset enough to cry its not very long at all, but those were two very emotional times in my life.

i dont remember exactly how long but it was a long time when i was 9 and my great-grandmother died. i didn't even know her that well but it was the first time anyone i knew had died and the thought that someone i knew was gone really freaked me out.

An hour and a half is pretty much nothing for me. THere have been times that, for fairly minor things, I have cried for at least two hours. I remember a few years ago when I found out that the guy I liked (now my ex-boyfriend, the geek) liked my best friend. I was in seventh grade at the time, so naturally I turned on my Avril Lavigne and cried for about four hours. Then, a few years ago when I thought said guy was going to break up with me I cried for about twelve hours (not all at once, a cried a few hours that night and then again the next morning). Then, there was the time I wasn't going to see said ex for two months. THat was about four hours too. I'm a really emotional person, I cry for pretty much no reason, so really this isn't that surprising.
But I hope you're doing okay. Sometimes a good cry can be the best thing for you. It's very cleansing and relaxing, and I always feel like I've drained some of the blunt pain from the experience out after a good cry.

3 days. After I cried for a while, I'd fall asleep for a couple hours but as soon as I woke up, I'd start crying again.
It's when my friend (in my avatar) committed suicide.

My uncle was murdered when I was ten, and I cried for about three hours.

I hope you're ok!
I've cried anywhere from 3 hours to 3 days to a week. It really does feel good and cleansing once it finally ends.

because I also try to relieve myself when I'm crying through the internet.
Personally, I could cry, sob, whine, you name it for hours on end.
Often about personal complicated things,
real problems are for shallow sissies.

But I'm sorry you're emotionally distraught, Capn. Whatever it is, I hope that you can learn from it, put it in perspective, and look to the future.

Exams were coming up, my sister said some really mean things to me, and I was just feeling completely worthless. One thing just piled on top of another and made me sob all night, and I only ended up falling asleep at around 3 am.

On and off for days. I'd think I was done crying and I'd start crying all over again. Or I'd fall asleep and when I'd wake up, I'd start crying again. That was early June of 2005. I do believe I spent approximately a week like that -- so much so to the point where I made myself horribly sick (103 fever and everything). I spent the next few weeks on the model diet: Cigarettes and diet coke.
I hate crying

Posted: 2/8/07 at 12:51pmI cry ALL THE TIME. So usually, my cries only last for about 10 minutes or so. I am pretty emotional, and things like commercials and Oprah specials ususally render me in hsyterics. I think crying is good for you.
