This just sent chills up my spine. I was at XL last night with 3 other friends and I almost didn't go because of all the bashings that are going on right now.

They convinced me to go because they said if I didn't I would be letting "them" win if I did. They told me living in fear was not the answer.

...and now I learn that another one of our gay "brothers" has been attacked...

I am so beyond angry right now....and I'm scared.

I will keep Eugene and all our gay brothers and sisters in my thoughts and in my prayers.

My thoughts are with you, Eugene. This makes me deeply sad and angry, I get the chills as I write this. I hope he is okay, but this is one of the scariest things I've read in a while.

Eyewitness News is going to have a story about Eugene at 11:00pm. Just saw a commercial for the story. They called him a "well known gay activist," which he certainly is!

So sorry to hear this happened to Eugene!

All the best for a speedy recovery and this animal and all the rest pay for their crimes!

These attacks are increasing at an alarming rate, and I'm sure it's backlash for all of the progress the LGBT community has been making.

Unfortunately, I don't think this will change as it's clear that for some people, it's simply okay to harass/beat/kill gay folks.

I saw Eugene interviewed on the news last night, and he was a strong spokesman for this hateful issue!
