Posted: 7/18/11 at 11:09amI think her personality is so normal and down-to-earth that it takes away from her music (for me)...when I listen to her songs I feel like it's a totally different and artificial Adele. Which I'm sure is totally unreasonable, but I like my stars to be stars. Ignorance is bliss. For example if we knew the "real" Lady Gaga aka Stephanie, it would much harder to buy into the whole Gaga world.

Gaga was on Howard Stern this morning so you can listen to her if you wish.
People are multi-faceted. Adele is a young, fun girl with all sides to her personality.

Posted: 7/18/11 at 12:10pmI know that, but I prefer the way of old when you wouldn't know anything about a star's personality. The happy-go-lucky girl that Adele seems to be is really at odds with her music which makes it seem ungenuine. But maybe I just don't like Adele.

I love Adele. I don't listen to a lot of the new music these days because I think it's all crap but there is a sincerity behind Adele's music that really speaks to a lot of people.
She's incredible.

Posted: 7/18/11 at 9:42pmI don't really care about her personality. I love her music and find it really emotionally compelling while also fun and exciting, plus her voice is just out of this world. She's an artist and that's what matters, that she can deliver on her art, and good for her if she's actually a happy-go-lucky girl in real life, I hate musicians with emo personalities.

"For example if we knew the "real" Lady Gaga aka Stephanie, it would much harder to buy into the whole Gaga world."
I feel the opposite way. I enjoyed Lady Gaga on a superficial level when I first heard of her, but it wasn't until I saw her talking candidly about herself as a person that I connected to her music. Seeing her as seperate from her album covers deepens the relationship for me.
And I don't think Adele should be refered to as a "Star", at least a star along the lines of Britney and Beyonce. just as with Hollywood, there are celebrities, and then there are real, true actors. And sometimes actors become celebrities, but because of their talent and skill, not their looks, or the "It" factor of the week. In the music world, there are celebrities, "Kesha and Britney" and then there are real Singers and Songwriters, like Adele. I want her to be Adele, and let the talent speak for itself, not some sort of Auto-tuned lip-syncing product of the industry.

Posted: 7/19/11 at 10:49pmI didn't find her demeanor in this in interview to disconnect with her music. She seemed very honest, like her music. She was in a good mood, whereas her latest album was all about a breakup she had had. She's moved on, I suppose.
