Lunch Box

The retro foods thread got me to thinking about being a kid. We had metal lunchboxes with a glass thermos in those days and every year we got a new one. Klutzy kids got in trouble with their mothers if they broke the glass thermos before the end of the school year.

What lunchbox(es) did you own? The two I remember having were:

GI Joe
Hair Bear Bunch

I had a few that I really loved:
An Archie comics lunchbox
A Partridge Family lunchbox, which had a game on the back which you played with little magnetic bus pieces.
A pink lunchbox that had Flower Power flowers all over it.

The girl next door had one with Bobby Sherman on it. And my cousin had a Barbie lunchbox.

My cousin had a Shaun Cassidy lunchbox, which I coveted. I remember having a Snoopy/Woodstock one.

I.......I can't remember. I think I had a Mario Brothers lunch box at one time, but that might have been a Trapper Keeper.

All of my lunch boxes were plastic. In 1st grade i had THE COOLEST Pocahontas lunch box with a matching thermos. Then i had one with The Little Mermaid, and then smiley faces. Pocahontas was definitely my favorite lunch box

Lunch boxes! re: Lunch Box Mine were all plastic and/or foam, because glass and 1st graders don't function anymore. I had one of those hard plastic one's with Pocahontas on it, but I had a really cool soft Pocahontas one too. Then I had a Mickey Mouse one. Eventually I just got one of those insulated ones in lime green. I had a bad habit of breaking/losing them since I always wanted a new one. Now paperbags conquer all. Haven't had a lunchbox since middle school. And my nalgene. You can't forget that...

I wish I had an old school metal lunch box...

My favorite was my Dukes of Hazzard lunchbox.

My brother also had a really cute Disney one that looked like a schoolbus with all the "original" Disney characters, like Micky, Pluto, Goofy, Donald, on it.

I always had to paper bag it. re: Lunch Box But, I recently bought 2 plaid lunch boxes and an m&m's one. I'm making up for my lost childhood, it seems.
And that sucks, c.

"`I grow old... I grow old... I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled.` What does that mean, Mr. Marlowe?" "Not a bloody thing. It just sounds good." He smiled. "That is from the `Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.` Here's another one. `In the room women come and go/Talking of Michael Angelo.' Does that suggest anything to you, sir?" "Yeah -- it suggests to me that the guy didn't know very much about women." "My sentiments exactly, sir. Nonetheless I admire T. S. Eliot very much."
