Oddly enough, the AP reports that the Boston Police Department just announced by tweet (?!) that three more suspects have been taken into custody in the marathon bombings. Oh digital new world.

CNN is reporting that two of the suspects are from Kazakhstan and the third is an American citizen, arrested for conspiracy to obstruct justice.

Here are two of them with Dzhokhar in Times Square, along with two other identified people:



Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev were reportedly arrested for making false statements to federal authorities about knowing the Tsarnaev brothers or their whereabouts, and also for obstruction of justice for disposing of items from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth dorm room they shared with Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

The Saudi Government is denying the allegations raised by the Daily Mail:


“The Saudi government had no prior information about the Boston bombers. Therefore, it is not true that any information, written or otherwise, was passed to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or any other US agency in this regard,” a statement issued by the embassy reads. “The Saudi government also does not have any record of any application by Tamerlan Tsarnaev for any visa to Saudi Arabia.”

As the GOP has indicated with their filibuster of the recent attempt to extend background checks for gun purchases, they have no concern whatsoever if terrorists, or suspected terrorists, are armed with automatic weapons and unlimited ammunition. Their faux concern regarding these bombers has no crediblity.

Eris: I read somewhere (maybe even in an article linked here. There have been so many that I can't remember) that the fact Miranda rights were read after he confessed is something that could/will come up later as a way to wipe out the whole confession

SNAFU: Eris, THAT is exactly what I worried about when I heard they were not going to read him his rights. We will have to see what happens.

It looks like this may not be an issue anymore. A confession written of his own free will may solve the whole Miranda rights issue.
