It sounds like they're just floating the name to get a, "this is the kind of person he's looking at" perception out there. He may not have political baggage, but he has A LOT of corporate ties -- something that wouldn't fly well with Obama's message of change/removing the corruption from Washington that he used in the primaries. I also think he'll choose a VP candidate who can help him carry a core area of the country or swing state.
If Obama doesn't pick Clinton, he should pick Joe Biden. That would resolve any discussion about inabilities in regards to foreign policy.
If he picks Hillary not only will he unite the party but his chances of winning will be far greater. Out of all those mentioned as possible VP's, Hillary is the only one who stands out. We can't afford to come close in this election. Hillary came in a close second and won important states. Obama should embrace that and use her.
I'm sure he's already offered this to her. The question is does she want it.
