re: MTV's 'Jersey Shore'

A friend of mine was doing PR for an event in Atlantic City and who should be there but the gang from Jersey Shore....looking very classy. It looks like a situation alright...

re: MTV's 'Jersey Shore'

So is it J-Woww or Sweetheart with the side-boob?
#103

re: MTV's 'Jersey Shore'

I think that's J-Woww. Is she going for the guidette Daisy Duke look?! (is there such thing!?)
#104

re: MTV's 'Jersey Shore'

Yeah, that looks like J-woww.

Snookie looks like a dark haired version of this girl Rhiannon that I know, who I don't like at all. But I still like Snookie ok.

re: MTV's 'Jersey Shore'

I was doing my best to ignore this show's existence until I saw a picture of some of the girls in it and realized that I went to school with these people. Well, not those specific people, but ones with a terrifyingly similar take on makeup and clothes, and from my understanding, probably similar life priorities as well.

Now I'm looking for a bucket of brain bleach strong enough to remove that awful knowledge from my mind. Oh, New Jersey.

God, I really really REALLY hate that plaid is back.

If grunge comes back I'm headin' for the hills! I hate "casual" fashion.

P, in the glam boat if forced to choose between grunge and glam

re: MTV's 'Jersey Shore'

I like plaid but only during cold seasons.

P, I think there are people trying to merge both glam and grunge. They are called hipsters.

There were definitely people like that at my HS, and I live in Upstate NY, so don't worry Plum. It is not a New Jersey thing.

Your Jersey Shore nickname is: The Rack

HOW DID IT KNOW?!

Mine's The Good Time. My mother would disagree.

'Snooki Gets Socked' footage will not be televised.

http://tv.gawker.com/5425484/snooki-socked-the-footage-mtv-suddenly-doesnt-want-you-to-see

This reminds me of when ET pulled away from airing footage of Heath Ledger supposedly discussing his drug use to some random person at an apartment that they were promoting after his death. They later never aired it when there were celebrities offended by ET for doing such a thing after a person's death and plenty of viewers complained as well. Even though they didn't air, just about everyone saw the promos or were told about it so the point of not airing was meaningless since everybody already got the scoop, except ET had to look respectable with some set of standards. Same deal for MTV here.

re: MTV's 'Jersey Shore'

Thanks to MTV and to this thread....I am no longer homesick. I no longer wonder why I don't return to Jersey. I no longer hanker to catch up with my HS friends. Or my sister.

Whatever happened to class? OY.

They aren't going to show Snooki getting hit? That sucks!

re: MTV's 'Jersey Shore'

I FINALLY saw the first episode. It is so hilariously absurd. I am not even a sliver attracted to ANY of the guys. Closest I could say is I like Pauly's tattoos. The girls are 1) not good looking at all and 2) have no redeeming qualities as people, at all.

But i will still watch if I am bored.

Except that none of these people are actually from NJ...except for maybe one?

Well, that's a relief. (Not really)

re: MTV's 'Jersey Shore'

Ironically enough, as I mentioned how ET shows clips that then dropping the story is pointless except for the sake of ethics, they showed Snooki getting socked at least 5 times as they mentioned how MTV won't air it but an anti-violence PSA.

Snooki said she was just bruised but J-Woww was quoted somewhere that there was blood.

Oh and Snooki's 4'9' for those wond'rin'.

re: MTV's 'Jersey Shore'

What we learned from tonight:

Pauly D's girl really brought down the entire morale of the house.

House music grinding is fine versus R & B grinding is the devil.

Snooki was punched in the face for calling out some meathead (a schoolteacher!) for taking their shots at the bar and not paying for them. Poor Snooki. J-Woww appears to be correct for saying there was blood.

The next episode involves the guidos being bloodhounds to hunt Snooki's attacker down.

Snooki was basically the only redeeming thing in this episode even before the punch. Every single thing she did was absolute gold.

Her mother is a normal person. Who knew?

Snooki's mom "It looks dirty."
Snooki "It's Jersey Shore."

re: MTV's 'Jersey Shore'

I haven't gotten a chance to actually sit and watch it. Now that I have plenty of time to waste, I think I'll catch up on episodes. Everyone I know is watching it, which is kind of sad.

re: MTV's 'Jersey Shore'

Russ aka Ron LOL!!!

Did anyone else find it odd that they posted a statement about abuse at the end of the show, and then ran an ad for another show "Teen Mom" showing a girl choking her boyfriend? MTV is so f***ed up.

#123

re: MTV's 'Jersey Shore'

I hate anything that tries to glorify/take advantage of teen moms, especially the lily white members of that stupid show. Sorry, I never had a Juno situation at my high school but I sure as hell had the effed nature of teen pregnancy at my high school and I would never want to see that displayed ever again, especially on a TV 'show'.

Anyway.....

MTV completely half-assed removing the punch by just blacking out the visual but keeping the audio. Oh and I guess it is alright for MTV as the guys to seek vigilante justice against the assailant as the next episode shows the guys hunting him down- also after the PSA against violence toward women.

After Snooki's explanation, I texted this to 3 other Jersey Shore watchers. What on earth? Then again, what more can you expect from someone who does cartwheels in the middle of a club, in a dress with no underwear on?
