Macs vs. PCs

Need a new computer. Always been a PC guy. Think I'm gonna switch to Mac.

Anyone who has worked with both have any recommendations?

I work with both...
I like both, but it's easier to find software and replacement parts with the pc... so I have 3 pc's at home.

Yes, my PCs always get ****ed up. Macs are more stable. I went by the Apple store today and the G5's are awesome.

I think that a PC works if you are more techonologically oriented, can fix everything yourself, and all that stuff.

I always laugh when I'm on my uncle's MAC though, it looks so ridiculously easy to use. I prefer a PC.

I've worked with both because my work sometimes require the use of both, but I'm a Mac fanatic. Apple is one cool company Macs vs. PCs" width="14" height="14" src=https://cloudimages.broadwayworld.com/board/wink.gif>. It's hard to beat their design! And yes, more stable. And you don't get viruses as much.

If you take care of your pc, he will be as good as a mac.
the best that apple has invented it's the IPOD and works for PC!

What draws me to the Mac is the fact that I can color-coordinate.

Yep. I do some programming so that's why I need to use both sometimes, and I'm comfortable enough with a PC, but the Macs are just better designed. And design matters. =).

Well, Steve Job studied Art in college.

Macs are more aesthetically (sp?) pleasing.

I likw PCs, and you can always drape a PC interface to look like the MAC desktop interface if you wanted to. So then you could have both! Well...sorta but not really.

I use a PC at work and a Mac at home. I have an iBook and am totally happy with it. So much more user friendly than a pc....and so many fewer problems. I *did* consider a VAIO at the time, but am happy with my decision.

My daughter got one of the new VAIOs for graduation. I find the design of the keyboard maddening. I'm sure it's fine once you get used to it, but I had a difficult time just trying to answer a couple of emails on it.

I love my mac. I have to deal with PC's at work and I can't stand them. Why anyone would want to complicate their lives with a pc is beyond me.

I love my PC... but I wanted an ibook for the longest time because they come in pretty colors.

I just went through the same dilemma. I needed to purchase a new computer with great graphics and editing capabilities. I've heard such great things from MAC users so I leaned towards MAC. Then, I realized that I would have to purchase all new software, etc. b/c none of my PC stuff was MAC compatible. I was able to get a much better PC (Dell's new XPS generation computers are incredible) for a lot less money since I didn't need to invest in all MAC software. If you get a PC, I highly recommend DELL.

Regardless of what you purchase, make sure to explore educational discounts.

For my next computer purchase (because it's good to upgrade every 4 years), I'm getting a Mac. Besides its sleek look and impeccable design, it's also much more stable and not prone to all those viruses created by hackers wanting to bring down Windows XP.

All my computer science professors use Macs, and there's a reason. The visual look may be simplistic (read: well-designed), but it's actually a very powerful computer.

My only caveat is that the regular mouse only has one button. But that can be remedied by getting a new two-button-plus-roller mouse. Macs vs. PCs" width="14" height="14" src=https://cloudimages.broadwayworld.com/board/happy.gif>
