I gotta say- the intimate setting works.
she's also getting 'talky' and isn't just running the show because it's on a timer.

its just, her, the band- some dancers and some video screens, but nothing over the top.

kinda reminds me of her Roseland appearances--but with a little more flair.

So far- shes done Turn Up the Radio, Open Your HEart, Masterpiece, Justify my Love and VOgue

She concluded with Human Nature,Die Another Day/ Beautiful Killer and ended with Je Tai'Me...which was pretty much a great highlight.

Which sounds like a great idea. She should really do that sort of thing more often. Like maybe a whole tour. You know, sort of mature a bit as a performer.

Some people are complaining it was to short, they thought she was doing the whole of the MDNA show for free.....in a theatre lol.

I thought it was great, she rambled a bit to much about her make the world a better place thing, but the show was awesome. It was crazy to see things like Vogue work in such a small venue when on the tour with all the moving lifts and set pieces it's epic. The 2 new ones we got at the end were brilliant. Beautiful killer works so much better than Revolver (she should remove that and put this in) and the comedy Je Taime was insane but fantastic.

I thought it was... pretty good, I guess. Just a few random things--it reminded me of the short promo concerts she did before her previous two albums that were broadcast live (or the hour one off concert, before her album, Kylie did for Body Language--Money Can't Buy). Which makes me wonder why they didn't do this before the CD release. Add a couple more MDNA tracks instead, and it would have made perfect sense, even if I'm not going to pretend it would have made the album sell more to the mainstream.

I did like that at the opening she actually looked HAPPY! Even when she swore it wasn't the now standard "f*ck you" but a "f*ck yeah", and no flipping the bird to her fans. It was a welcome change for me.

I thought it was kinda structured weirdly--opening with her now obligatory "some European folk/rock group will now play a section with me because I discovered them and LOVE them" for one third of it struck me as odd (are they the same group playing on her tour? I haven't been following it, though I see it in Vancouver the end of Sep). But it was OK, Masterpiece sounded nice, and at least she only played her guitar for one song.

Doing Vogue in a straightforward way made me happy, as well, and was one of the highlights--thoughit was hysterical how lip synched the vocals were (which is expected with that song when she does it live) and then when she went into Candy Shop suddenly the sound, and the vocals, were way worse--I guess theydon't even bother to try. (Random comment, but the whole head mic thing that she helped to pioneer in concerts now seems to only be used when they clearly want the audience to know it's mainly not being sung live--which I've never gotten).

I don't understand her continued love for Candy Shop, but the choreography was cute, and it did sound better with the Pettibone 90s house inspired beat (I hope if she continues to do it on tour this is the version she's been doing).

Loved that she did Beautiful Killer--one of the few true highlights of the album and a song I still don't understand why it's not on the tour (maybe it will be now), and was left to the bonus disc. I liked the dancers, though wasn't too into the creepy terrorist clowns thing.

Ending the whole thing with her shooting the Alain Delon stand-in to Je T'aime, Moi Non Plus (which Donna Summer covered far better ), was I guess her "ary" moment, but it seemed like a kinda mean spirited way to end a show which she had been going on earlier was all about her love for her fans and for France. *shrug* I think that's one reason people found it short--it was longer than most of these mini, promo concerts, but it ended on such an odd note.

As for her long ramble at the start--it was nice, I almost hate to admit, to hear her just address the audience and not sound scripted. But it was also slightly ridiculous (I mean to come out and compare yourself to Napoleon because you're all about revolution and fredom for the people--umm does she know her history?)

I adore the trio who sing with her from Eastern Europe, the version of Open Your Heart i think is kind of brilliant.
They are on tour with her and do this on tour as well, it was a huge crowd pleaser the night i was there, especially the end how it builds.

I have to say her singing on a few of the songs tonight was much worse than on the actual tour, my partner thought she might be nervous, thought she did great on Masterpiece and Turn Up The Radio.

Beautiful killer needs to go on the tour and replace Revolver since it was the same choreography almost, far better song.

I love Je T'aime, it was so good to see her do something so silly and quite comedic, i didn't think it was mean, it was to camp to be mean lol

Vogue was great, even with her lip synching (its one of a few songs she mimes on the actual MDNA tour), the tour production of this song is MASSSIVE, i was shocked it worked so small.

The show was very much in the vein of the small gigs she has done before, just with bigger production values. Honestly some Madonna fans are outraged that it was not the full show, did they honestly think when the tour is still in Europe and has not hit the US yet that she would do the whole thing after so many have paid?

On another note, i thought she looked great, and her body when she was putting the coat on fro Beautiful Killer, holy crap

I dunno, the Je T'aime thing didn't bother me, just ending the concert with the final bullet to the head kinda did. Maybe I'm just too sensitive (I did like her cover of the song).

I didn't mind the trio she performed with and I actually liked Open Your Heart more than the gypsy folk versions of her standards she did on the Sticky and Sweet tour (but then again I found nearly everything on that tour disappointing). I just thought it seemed odd to devote so much time to them for a short concert. Shrug

Totally agreed with Beautiful Killer. It made me midly more excited for the upcoming tour :P

There have been acts before that have even televised their tours while in the middle of them-I thought Madonna did with one of hers, at least to the UK but I could be wrong (I believe Kylie has), so maybe that was one reason for fan delusion--but fans, particularly many Madonna fans are crazy anyway--it was pretty clearly stated if they had paid attention what the concert was about.

I think the reason she devoted so much time to the trio is that other than what she did in that show she couldn't really do anything else from the tour, it just would not fit on the stage.

You will like this tour FAR more than Sticky and Sweet (though her Like Prayer performance during Sticky and Sweet is one of my all time faves)

I heard about this first thing this morning on the news. At least she got publicity! And FINALLY someone is raising awareness of world peace beyond the audiences of beauty pageants. This concert alone adds so much more validity to the concept than we've seen before. And nothing says "tolerance" and "world peace" like blowing your ex's brains out in a fit of vengeance.

Madge is catching a LOT of crap for this. People are PISSED. She got booed. Some people paid hundreds of Euros and camped for two days to get in.
