Honestly, I have no sympathy for them. If these so-called fans have not yet realized that their comfort and their desires are not Madonna's priorities, then shame on them.
If she HAD done two hours, they'd be bitching that she didn't bring along the 3D motel room with the number painted inside the door.

i totally understand the free Roseland gigs or whatever but to shell out all that money and get a 45 minute set is kinda not cool. She could have easily done stripped acoustic stuff of her new album in between those 2 segments- or anything different from the norm. without dancers.
still, it was a decent intimate evening and rare for her ilk. but not worth shelling out all that money for.

But the thing is, when somebody does stadium tours and they take time out to get "close to the people" in an intimate club gig, the audience is paying the premium for proximity. That's the bragging right they get after seeing the show. "OH yeah, I was at the small club show. SHE LOOKED AMAZING! Could you see how good she was from the upper level at the football stadium?"
When buying a ticket for any Madonna performance, no matter what the venue, if you don't already know that she thinks she can charge whatever the hell she wants and then tell the fans she's "worth it" and that they should save their pennies for a couple of years, well, that's your problem not hers.

People can't be satisfied, no matter what. No one twisted anyone's arm into paying several hundred euros to see Madonna, let alone sleeping outside on the street and THEN paying hundreds of euros to see Madonna.
I will say, I assumed the promo was free. It is a bit strange that she'd stop her world tour to go backwards... perform snippets of the show and jet.
Her management is a bit backwards.

From her management:
"Madonna's Paris club show was planned as her heartfelt thank you to France which she expressed at the start of her show. Despite a grueling concert tour, she desperately wanted to perform for her fans in an intimate setting at the historic Olympia as a means to honor her love for French artists, French cinema and a tribute to France's long history of welcoming and inspiring artists, authors, painters, poets and minorities from other countries over the years. The show was not billed as her full MDNA concert and tremendous effort was made to keep the ticket prices reasonable ($100 for 2000 floor seats) and keep them strictly for her fans. The show cost Madonna close to a million dollars to produce. She has done a handful of club dates in the past and they were never more than 45 minutes. And by the way, she put on a fabulous show which was streamed for millions of fans around the world."

"And by the way..."? I didn't realize Gunnar was Madonna's manager. Why does he need Project Runway?
Madonna's Paris club show was planned as her heartfelt thank you to France which she expressed at the start of her show.
And by the way, fans expressed their fabulous disappointment at the end of the show for millions of internet viewers around the world.
Doesn't sound like it went as planned.

It's not that unusual for superstar acts. On their 40 Licks tour ten years ago, the Stones would occasionally squeeze in a theater and a club date between the mega shows like Madonna's, the ones that seem like they will go off when the computers fire up. (To be fair, though, they do change songs on their set lists, which seems out of the range of possibility for Madonna.) In the theater shows, The Stones would play deeper catalogue cuts and drop some of the mandatory huge hits that they have to do in the stadium shows. In the clubs, they would do old blues numbers and whatever the hell the felt like. Their fans were with them no matter what.
That's something I guess Madonna has never developed with her fans. I guess, at least in France, they DO have their limits. They felt the show was too short and they bitched and bitched about it. 20 yrs ago, they would've been happy to breathe the same air as her for 30 minutes.

Posted: 7/28/12 at 2:08amA Coldstone gig must be a conundrum for Madonna. Rhoda Morgenstern taught us cold helps us keep better, but Madonna needs warmth for her golden throat. Would there be any way she could keep her chords warm and lubricated in an ice cream shop?

Jordan--- so. wrong.
I would love to see her at the Shake Shack. She could cover Kelis' "Milkshake." and writhe around.
Big Madonna fan here, but I have to say that during the Je'taime number I was wondering "WHAT THE HELL IS SHE DOING?"
Whatever the cause, it must have sucked to have come out onstage, felt that you were connecting with your audience, then getting booed and had the name slut! chanted by hundreds of people.

Posted: 7/28/12 at 2:13amI think her talents are really better suited for one of those Taco Bell/Pizza Hut combos if they still have them. Okay, even if they don't.

Oh god. The livestream seems to be down, but I did see fan shot snippet of "Satisfaction" and the ode to France and all things Frawnch and it reminded me for all the world of the Jeanne Durant AbFab episode. And *then* she started "Hung Up" and all I could hear was Sandra Bernhard: "Bitch is still playing guitar."
