Madonna's "Dress You Up"

I bought a Madonna CD yesterday (Like A Virgin--Remastered) and it has like 8 songs I had never heard by Madonna, one of them being a very catchy song called "Dress You Up". Now, 80's Madonna, obviously, was before my time--but I LOVE 80's music and this is now one of my favorite songs. It's so catchy and so 80's.

Why is this song not usually mentioned when people talk about Madonna? It's probably one of my favorite songs by her now. Anyone else like this song?

It's always been one of my favorites.

But even if you're not old enough to remember it coming out, surely you remember those ubiquitous Gap commercials that used it a few years ago...

I've always loved the song as well. And love the video. It's a live concert video, and she is in the height of her 80's image. LOVE IT!!

Nah--cheno will lol. I am not as up on her 80s performances, but I, too, love "Dress You Up".

It’s been forever and a day since I’ve seen the video, but I just pulled it up on MTV.com...wasn’t there a short snippet of Beat It in the original video with Madonna and her backup dancers doing some Michael Jackson moves? It’s not in the version on MTV’s site (or am I thinking of another video?).

If you haven’t seen the video recently, check it out…there’s a glorious montage at the beginning of wannabes arriving at the concert.

"Dress You Up" is one of my favorite Madonna songs - along with "Holiday" and "Into the Groove"...three great tunes that will get you up and dancing! Fun stuff!

One of my favorite songs ever. I remember belting it out in front of the mirror as a toddler.
