I don't know what to make of this. I love the idea of a movie about Bessie from Baltimore, but a musical?...directed by Madonna?

Oh, I know what to make of it.
Ewww! Thanks Namo! Anyway, I love the whole Wallis Simpson story and the history during that time. However, I can't imagine this being a musical. Jane Seymour played a dead on Wallis Simpson-she completely embodied that part!
Not to mention Cynthia Harris's charismatic performance in the Edward and Mrs Simpson miniseries.
Both Cynthia Harris and Jane Seymour are talented actresses. Madonna is not.
But it doesn't sound as though Madonna is planning to be in it; just direct it.
It mentions Cate Blanchett as Wallis. That I could certainly see. Then again, I'd watch Cate Blanchett play George Wallace.
Or even Marcia Wallace ...
"Hello, Wally!" is sure to please all her fans.
"But it doesn't sound as though Madonna is planning to be in it; just direct it. "
That's harm enough, lol. I don't think her talents lie behind the camera. Yes, I know, Namo," they don't lie before the camera either."
Well, that's a horse of another color!

Hey, Madonna, set this to music.
Seriously, this is TOO funny! What, she s*xes a few directors she figures the abilities rub off on her? Sorry, kiddo, that's not talent, that's herpes.

Namo, that kind of "credit" is what caused the Wall Street meltdown!
Maybe she'll finally out the Duke of Windsor as a homosexual and Wallis Simpson as a tranny.
I hope so. There are more rhymes for "gay" and "tranny" than for "Windsor" and "Bessie Wallis."
Maybe, but has anyone ever rhymed 'abdicate' and 'fornicate' before?
I bet the Queen Mother did.

I'm pretty sure "tranny" is considered pejorative.
Perhaps I should have said "Maybe she'll finally out the Duke of Windsor as a homosexual and Wallis Simpson as a transplant patient.
Well, there are lots of rhymes for "Dickie"
Unless you WANT a tax writeoff who would invest in this?

I'm sure one of the regular MDQs (Madonna Defense Queens) on this board would point out the astronomical grosses (while avoiding the astronomical grossness) of her last tours would leave her plenty of money to invest in this disastrous idea. Then I would point out that any tour with $500 seats is going to be the top grosser. Then we would all hope Madonna the movie producer would be shrewd enough not invest any of her own cash in something done by that director. That's taboo.
I dont really think its the best idea ever, however i would say why not wait and see 1st how it is first?
And Namo, did madonna kill your dog? the venom is astounding

"The first scene of the film is an old woman in her nineties living on her own in a Parisian flat."
Does this look like a flat to you, Madonna?
