Looking at the video, considering that the kitchen window was on the front of the house, I think the mother and kid would have seen him even if they hadn't been trespassing..
I mean, that's not to say that he purposely wanted to be seen naked, I think it was just a dumb move on his part.

There is no way of knowing where the reporter was in the yard in relation to the house and the curb. If the woman hadn't been trespassing and looking into the windows she wouldn't have seen anything.
As Pearl S Buck had one of her characters say when a young boy commented on people bathing naked in the river: "It is polite not to look!"

If he had been masturbating in front of the window, sure, call the cops.
But making/drinking coffee?! Really? So, if I just happened to be walking between peoples houses at night, and I peeked in a bathroom window, and saw a man or woman getting into the shower, I can call the cops and say they're "indecent". What ****s ups!

There is no way of knowing where the reporter was in the yard in relation to the house and the curb. If the woman hadn't been trespassing and looking into the windows she wouldn't have seen anything.
They said the kitchen window was on the front of the house. Generally, in a normal neighborhood, if the curtains/blinds are open, you can see into front windows from curbs, unless there are bushes or trees in the way.
Like I said, it's wasn't right for the mother to have him arrested for indecent exposure, but it does seem like it was an unfortunate lapse of judgment on his part.

I never let my scruff get to the level of a beard, though. So, I guess, he can be the hairier one and that is how you can tell us apart! But if he's a dive instructor I better hit the gym a little harder this week to be able to compete,

Americans, on top of everything else wrong with them, are such prudes. She saw him naked.... who cares. Get over it. And she was tresspassing.
Personally I hope this peeping toms name and address are released and she is harrassed within a inch of her life for causing this man so much trouble.

Was it 5:30 or 8:30? Because if it was dark out I don't see how it could have been 8:30.
And what is the mother doing walking up a "path" (what it said in the news report) at 5:30 in the morning with a 7 year old child?

The mother was the wife of a police officer - which is why the police department is using all there resources to try to justify the ravings of a prude.

It was a lapse of judgment because he didn't close the blinds. It's okay to be naked in your own home, but usually it's nice to make sure that the curtains or blinds are closed on the off chance of anybody being able to see in, so they don't get a nasty surprise.
And, um, thank you for that lovely generalization about all Americans?

Trespassers or neighbors. My neighbors can see quite clearly into my house on all four sides if the blinds are open.
And I know the human body is beautiful, but if you're not expecting to catch a glimpse of your naked neighbor, I'd consider it kind of a sudden shock, even if they are hot and even if you are trespassing.
It's still not enough to have your neighbor arrested for indecent exposure, however. Maybe if he went outside to pick up his newspaper naked, then there'd be a case.

That is your house. From the video we have no idea what his neighbors can see from the street or from anywhere other then where the newsman reported from.
The woman and her son in this case were cutting through this man's yard, she was not on the sidewalk passing by the house but taking a shortcut through his yard.

Judging from that video, it looks like you can see inside the house from the curb (and apparently from the school bus stop across the street, though that seems a little exaggerated). The square window behind the newscaster is the one in question. Granted, the mother probably got a lot better view since she was trespassing in his yard, so that's her own fault. Who knows how much you can actually see from the curb anyway?
All I'm saying is that he would have been okay if the blinds were closed, and that it's the mother's fault that she got such a close-up view, so she didn't have the right to have him arrested anyway.

If you look at the height of that window, it is above the counter, I doubt very much you would see that much unless you were very close to it. The woman in question is also a policeman's wife. Seems there is a witch hunt now, sending canvasers door to door? Sending fliers home with school kids? Seems like hysteria. What about the policeman's wife trespassing and looking in windows?
Now that this has gotten national attention I believe the police and the woman's husband are trying overly hard to take the glare off his wife's wrong doing.

I agree that it's getting way overblown.
Why doesn't anybody complain about the kids who walk around with their pants around their knees, showing off their boxers? They look like penguins and I'd rather not see their dollar signed underpants.
Or, better yet, let's go after those people who always have their crack showing! Now that is indecent exposure.

I started dropping pennies down it saying he looked like a damned piggy-bank. Surprisingly he started wearing a belt, though he ended up being 72 cents richer.
