Go to NBC.com. That is where I saw it (as well as his Weekend Update skit).

Posted: 11/2/08 at 7:19amI mavel at SNL's skill- both Palin and McCain were forced to participate in their own degradation.

Posted: 11/2/08 at 7:22amI thought the opening was hysterical, but found the Weekend Update segment weak by comparison.

We actually watched the whole show & it was dynamite. The entire thing was great especially Mc Cain & Affleck
His Olberman was dead on & it is time this gasbag got ripped.I taped it. I am taping all the SNL political stuff for this year & putting it on a DVD.

Olberman liked the skit as well Roxy. He watched as they rehearsed and even mentioned how great it was on Countdown and how he was flattered. I didn't care for the Olberman skit or the View skit. Just didn't think it was funny at all. They really could have roasted Keith and Elizabeth but they failed on both in my opinion.
I still prefer SNL's O'Reilly skits. Now THIS IS SPOT ON!

I watched it again this morning, and I am still surprised at how he allowed Palin to be portrayed in his presence.
He must really blame her for his mistake.

Posted: 11/2/08 at 1:17pmKeenan Thompson always looks like he's reading from cue cards. He is the most unfunny cast member of SNL ever IMO. Even worse than Chris Farley. (Yeah, I know some thought he was funny. I never did.) The opening skit with McCain was great. The Olberman skit was pretty funny too. The Target skit was stupid. The View skit could have been so much better. It was "one note" and poorly written. And Thompson never really got in character as Whoopi. But overall, a better show than last week.

A friend of mine just sent me an email his Dad, a McCain supporter sent him in regards of John's appearance on SNL. He wrote:
"I just saw John McCain's SNL sketch, and I gotta say I was flabbergasted. When a presidential candidate goes on a comedy show the weekend before the election and makes fun of how poorly his campaign has been run and how detrimental his running mate selection was, well I think he knows it's over."

Posted: 11/2/08 at 1:25pmIt shows he has a sense of humor & is not one to take a holier than thou attitude like Obama.

Posted: 11/2/08 at 1:27pmI think it is more him setting up for the finger pointing that will be happening on the 5TH should he lose the election. Palin will be known as the woman who brought down the McCain campaign.

Roxy, Obama is quite able to poke fun of himself.

Fred Armisten had me cracking up senseless with his Joy Benhar impression: "So what? Who cares?" And the adjusting of the clothes...perfection.
Kristen Wiig rocked as Elisabeth too and Affleck did a good job as Alec Baldwin.
Loved the skit with Tina Fey and McCain, fantastic.

I roared at the Olberman skit, from the start. I thought they absolutely nailed him -- and I'm a fan, never more so than this past summer. It was wickedly accurate and yet not mean-spirited.
As for Wiig, I marvel at everything she does. She's the real deal -- an actor, like the great genius and reigning queen of the genre, Catherine O'Hara. There's always an actor's detail and nuance; she never settled for caricature, though her work has great size and operatic dimension. She was in top form last night, and made the Hasselbeck creation something remarkable. She soared when the writing was merely adequate. I thought Affleck was pretty wonderful in every sketch, and his UPS man opposite Wiig was a riveting, and oddly alluring creation, no?

Posted: 11/2/08 at 5:20pmKeith Olbermann is not as angry on his show as Ben Affleck made him out to be, but I guess that was the point. I loved how they made fun of the camera angles. That was hilarious.

Posted: 11/2/08 at 6:06pmI don't get Wiig. She has never made me laugh. Her Hasselbeck would have been better plaued by a random Thespian student from Mark Manley's drama club.

Posted: 11/2/08 at 6:08pmWhy was Jennifer Anniston even written into the sketch? Why couldn't they get the real Alec Baldwin? Why didn't Ben play himself in that sketch?

Posted: 11/2/08 at 7:15pmThe View sketch had no teeth, one idea recycled, alas. Too bad. They keep landing on decent premise, but seem unable to find a core moment to build the sketch on. Too much dependence on the performers to carry the humor rather than the quality of the words -- always a bad sign for SNL.

I'm a little underwhelmed by Wiig as well. She's fine and even great sometimes, but Aunt Linda and the Target woman and that horrible sketch a few weeks back about keeping the engagement secret were just terrible.
I did think Affleck did a pretty good job Saturday. I loved his creepy UPS guy and Olberman impression.
And David Cook. Man, those songs were mediocre, but he's still dreamy.

Posted: 11/3/08 at 11:32amYeah, his music just doesn't land. Question: which broadway show will he eventually find himself in? With RENT closed, I smell a new Fiyero. We all know broadway is the ultimate stop for idol-exes.
