Now that was freaking hilarious!
(Hate McCain the Candidate), but his coming timing in this bit was, quite frankly, pretty damn great. Can I hate myself for loving this??

Does McCain think this skit helps him? The skit was self-deprecating to a point where it actually reminded people he's an old ass.He was a good sport, but the skit actually hurt him more than helped him. McCain really trashed his running mate in my opinion. I also think its a bad idea for him to be doing SNL days before the election.To me it looked sort of like he was throwing in the towel and just making fun of himself and his running mate.(not in a good way)

Tina Fey always soars. Awesome. (And while I can't stand Cindi McCain either, I have to say that seeing her as a QVC model... was a great use of type-casting.

I totally agree, Romantico. I was commenting ONLY on my reaction to the skit...was totally unprepared for my own response! I laughed out loud!
But, as you said, too little, too late, and the appearance doesn't matter at all. He's a total jerk candidate. At least the jerk was game enough to attempt a comedy bit. Much better than the POS (piece of ****) Palin.

everyone knows how much i dislike senator mccain, but he was HILARIOUS in the opening skit. is it just me tho... or did anyone else think appearing with Fey as Palin was a subtle way of getting back at her for "going rogue"? i thought it was funny that he poked fun at himself, but he let Fey rip Palin to shreds again, and seemed amused by it... hmmmm

I was hoping the Olberman skit would be funny. It wasn't. Neither was the View sketch. McCain has a great sense of humor. I recommend watching his 2002 SNL appearance where he hosted. He was HILARIOUS! Funnier than he was tonight.Cindi was creepy in the sketch and even though it was funny I didn't think it was presidential. I mean, the man is allowing someone to mock his VP with him on stage. I bet Palin was Pissed which makes me wonder if those rumors about the two hating each other are true. I can not for the life of me understand why his campaign would allow him to do the skits he did.Not really looking out for him. Lets see what the media says about it, but I am guessing they will agree with it not helping McCain. Only one its helping is Lorne Michaels and SNL. By the way, this was Tina's last appearance as Palin tonight.

Security up there was the most insane I have ever seen it! They had bomb sniffing dogs prowling the hallways constantly. If you used the bathroom you had to be rescanned.

I thought McCain came across as a really good sport.

I enjoyed the Olbermann skit! It was a little too long, and I didn't like Affleck's take at first, but when he really started to get into it he won me over. The co-op board/Miss Precious Perfect thing was great. The View skit was poorly written, but I loved Wiig's shrill, crazy Elisabeth.

One of the best things about Wiig is how she gets better and better each time she does a character. I hope she continues with Hasselbeck because she was really good tonight and will probably refine that over time. I don't know why Keenan Thompson kept slipping into Rosie O'Donnell accent for Whoopi, I think he was confused.

I always remember her as Dr. Pat from the Joe Schmo Joe, a show which, I am not ashamed to admit, I saw each and every episode.

Just watched the opening skit on NBC's website---hilarious! My friend worked for Senator Feingold so I lol'd at the "McCain Fine Gold" part pretty hard. And Tina Fey's Palin was spot on again, I loved the Joe action figures and the going rogue part!
