And can only be treated with repeated applications of Brittney Spears?
Yeah, right. Nice spin there, Mel.

Uh-huh. Nice try. It's the old "I'm Not A Jackass, I'm SICK!!" dodge. Anyone buy it?

I know people with manic depression and bi-polar disorder and I tell you, neither make you racist or bigoted.
Or homophobic. Or misogynist.

"I wasn't being homophobic when I made BRAVEHEART, I was bi-polar! I wasn't being anti-Semitic when I made PASSION OF THE CHRIST and said that Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world, I was being bi-polar!! It isn't my fault! I'm SICK!!!"
Feh. As if anyone cares about that Gibson creep anyway. It's been downhill since YEAR OF LIVING DANGEROUSLY.

I didn't even love TEQUILA SUNRISE.

Nah, a little too self-consciously "funny." Those scenes of him putting on pantyhose and shaving his legs. Ha. Ha.

Still, I'll always have a lingering fondness for MAD MAX and GALLIPOLI. My oh my. That swimming scene alone.
Of course, that was before his Joan Crawford period.
Mel, you were so tasty once! Come back!!
bi-polar and racist and homophobic as he is, he's also a helluva storyteller and a bang-up moviemaker.
and tequila sunrise ruled, roscoe you rat bastard!

C'est Moi, le batarde rat.
BRAVEHEART is really laughable. Count the cliches. And for sheer weirdness it makes BLUE VELVET look like an episode of BARNEY.
I think he's a much better actor than a director. He can direct action scenes.. and that's about it.
Can't anyone just be an obnoxious drunk anymore?

Didn't the kids on South Park diganose him as "f--ing crazy" years ago?

The article itself is schlock--it doesn't delve into Gibson's statement or substantiate anything about his manic depression.
If, indeed, he is bi-polar, he shouldn't be drinking at all and really has a difficult life. If his bi-polarity includes cluster migraines, Gibson is pretty much out of commission for three months out of the year. Those headaches are so debilitating that some people can't even get out of bed while they have them.
This is nothing to joke about.

I looked at his IMDB page and realized he has not done a starring role in a film since "Ransom" in 2002.
What ever happened to crazy people? What ever happened to assholes? Why must we diagnose everything?!
Edit: My first double post!
I know people with manic depression and bi-polar disorder and I tell you,
- Those are the same thing, lol.
And I find it a little strange he's just finding this out NOW. The mania side of bi-polar is VERY extreme and out of control.

Don't call him Shirley, Phyllis!
Whoa, for a moment I got him confused with Tom Cruise and was going to say something along the lines of, 'doesn't he not believe in psychological disorders?'...
I guess I keep mixing up my crazy celebrities...
