And to know be totally caught up...
What is the best day of your life
Ok..I know this is going to sound clichéd but my wedding day was the best day. Everything just went so smoothly and it was so much fun. The best part was that for the first time in my life ALL of my friends and relatives were together. It was also the last time I saw my best friend before he was deployed to Iraq the next day.
The day I got engaged was also a great day -- albeit stressful. I was in NYC and it was Bastille Day, Wed, July 14th. 2004. That afternoon we went and saw Avenue Q which was so much fun. That evening we went to dinner at One if By Land, Two if By Sea and then took a cab over to the Empire State Building. It was unseasonably cold that night and the visibilty was terrible -- but I was determined to follow my plan! Of course it all turned out great!
Other great days were the two times I was able to attend the Tony Awards, the opening nights of all the shows I have been in, the nights that my teams have won championships, and the day each year that I land in NYC.

Favorite Sandwich Filling? hmmm....roast beef or just a plain old BLT
Favorite name for a boy?I actually like my name, Christian, but also am a fan of Justin, Chase, and Charles. For a girl? Kathryn or my sister's name, Paige
What will your epitaph be? I always thought it would be cool to have an epitaph like the ones on the tombstones outside of Disney's The Haunted Mansion ride. Something funny that rhymed. Or maybe a quote from a musical.
What is the last thing you put in the refrigerator? The "Simply Orange" Orange Juice after I had a glass this morning before I left for work.
YAY Enjolras!!
I remember you were one of the first people to not be hoity-toity towards me when I joined!!!!
one day... *sigh* I'll be a celebrity!
If I could travel back in time and ask 10 year old Chris what he was going to be when he grew up, what would he say? a zookeeper! Because 10 year old Chris was big into animals and catching frogs and insects.
What brought you to this lovely website? A friend of mine started writing reviews for BWW and told me about it. I had been posting on ATC and came over here only a few days after the inception of the site. There were hardly any threads posted and I was afraid that the board would be dull (due to the lack of posters) so I went back to ATC. When I returned to this site some time later I was surprised to see how fast and how much it had grown!
If you could only listen to two Warlow songs for an entire year, which two? Since you are making me choose...gosh this is hard! Probably his "This is the Moment" and "If I Loved You".
You said you would like to really learn how to dance, what styles do you wish you could do that most? ANY! Although I would love to learn all the ballroom styles. Dance has always been the one thing that has kept my performing career from REALLY taking off.
Whatis your favorite sport? It is a toss up between football and basketball. It would probably be football hands down if I could play it more often. I love them both, but I can play basketball everyday in my driveway whenever I want to. It is hard to play football alone!
Do you have any pets? I have a 4 year old Pug named Max!
What is your least favorite part about your job? sitting behind a desk all day. I would love to be back directing shows or conducting choirs.
What shows do you hope to see on you trip to NYC this year? This is a hard question too. Usually it is pretty cut and dry but this year there are so many choices and so many things that will or won't be playing when I go in July. I am definitely seeing Sweeney Todd, The Drowsy Chaperone, and Jacques Brel (since I already have tickets to it). I will most likely see Jersey Boys although since it is not one of my top choices I am having a hard time rationalizing paying that much. I would like to see Inishmore so I am crossing my fingers that it will still be open. I would have liked to see The Pajama Game and Threepenny Opera but both will be closed by the time I arrive. Still in the running also are: The Wedding Singer, [title of show], and maybe even Julie Taymor's Grendel.
What was your favite show to perform in? Why? I have thoroughly enjoyed most of the shows I have performed in. Playing Hero in Forum was fun. It also was the only time I have been able to sing a ballad onstage (since I am always cast in comic character roles). I got to play Prez from The Pajama Game on two occasions and doing the comedy bits during the two "Her Is" numbers was a blast. My other favorite role is one most people would not be familiar with. I played Reverend Mervin Oglethorpe in both Smoke on the Mountain and its sequel The Sanders Family Christmas. These shows became HUGE HITS in my community and I practically lived the role for months. It was the first true leading role I had ever had and to be involved in such a "cult" hit in my town was a lot of fun.
Since you are a performer...What are ten songs that you love to sing?
1) Anthem
2) Make Them Hear You
3) Where is the Life that Late I Led?
4) This is the Moment
5) This Nearly Was Mine
6) Corner of the Sky
7) Pirate King or Modern Major General from Pirates of Penzance
8. If I Were a Rich Man
9) I've Heard it All Before from Shenandoah
10) She Likes Basketball
...I could name 10 more..let's see: Come Up to My Office, All the Wasted Time, Run Freedom Run, Suddenly Seymour, Lily's Eyes, etc.
What non musical music do you like? Frank Sinatra, Billy Joel, Elton John, The Eagles, The Beatles, R.E.M., Matchbox Twenty, James Taylor, Louis Armstrong
What is your favorite thing to do on a rainy day?Sing showtunes while my wife accompanies me on piano.
What is your favorite non-Broadway song? Favorite movie?
What is your favorite non-Broadway song? Probably Sinatra's "All the Way" or "New York, New York", I also love the Beatles' "Long and Winding Road" and "Yesterday", and Billy Joel's "For the Longest Time"..and there are many more! I have such a hard time picking a "favorite"!
Favorite movie? Glory is probably #1 on the list but I also love The Princess Bride, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, As Good As It Gets, and the original Manchurian Candidate w/ Sinatra. My guilty pleasure movies are the two Eddie Murphy Nutty Professor movies...what can I say...I guess I am still attracted to bathroom humor and flatulence!
Who is your favorite Actor and Actress.
If you could go back in time and be there for the Opening Night of any show, which show would it be?
Who is your favorite Actor and Actress
For Actor: On Broadway I would say it would be Stokes. In movies it probably would be a tie between Tom Hanks and Jack Nicholson, although I also love Steve Martin too, and in classic movies it would be Gene Kelly.
For Actress: On Broadway it would be Audra or maybe even Kelli O'Hara these days. In movies it would probably be Julia Roberts (regardless of how she was on Broadway), and in classic movies it would be Judy Garland hands down.
If you could go back in time and be there for the Opening Night of any show, which show would it be? I would love to be there for the opening night of the original production of 42nd Street. It would be neat to be there for Merrick's famous curtain speech about the death of Gower Champion and to see the drama that ensued.
What do you enjoy more, plays or musicals?
movies or musicals?
Hmmmm...probably Musicals and Musicals..LOL
I do enjoy movies and plays but musicals are probably my most favorite genre of entertainment. Oh and I also like movie musicals! :)

Alright -- now for the spicier questions Thanks SweetQ!
1. Would you rather be a nun or a prostitute? As much I would hate to be either I would have to say a prostitute...I couldn't go my whole life without..well you know :)
2. In your house, what is the most 'sexual' thing you have? Well...hmmm...right before I got married my friends bought me a bunch of gag gifts. I was given a gold colored thong! However, I think if I ever wore it it would probably have the opposite effect! LOL
3. Have you ever used an eraser for anything except erase? Well nothing exciting...I have used it to scratch my ear on occasion or to help me get items that have fallen between my desk and the wall....but that's about it!
4. What is the weirdest thing you learned in health class?Well in 5th grade I was totally grossed out by the whole Sex Ed thing...I was still having trouble coming to terms with the fact that someone else would have to see me naked...LOL
5. Would you rather swim in the ocean with your best guy friend or your best girl friend? Well being married I am programmed to say my best guy friend...but actually that is probably close to being the truth. It is nice to be able to get away with "just the guys" every now and then. Of course, if I were single I would say with my best girl friend (and any of her girl friends) :)
6. If your significant other jumped off a cruise ship- would you jump too? Hmmm..how far up did she jump from? Since I am not a great swimmer I would probably call for help and then jump in if none came. If I had a life preserver with me I would jump in immediately. My wife is a lot better swimmer than me so if I jumped in after she would probably have to rescue me!
7. If your doorbell rang and you opened up to see a zebra, what would be the first thing you do- (except close the door)?I would offer them tea and we would talk about the weather in the serengeti.
8. If you had to pick, would you rather smell gasoline or flatulence? Well...gasoline would give me a nice buzz...but flatulence is so much more fun! But..was it a loud ripper or just an SBD? Because that would make ALL the difference!!!
9.Do you enjoy popping bubble wrap? All the time! It is a compulsive habit of mine!
10. If you were able to kill either Saddam Huessein or Osama Bin Laden- who would you choose? Osama in a heartbeat! ...or maybe I would make them engage in a Celebrity Death Match and kill each other....
Are there any TV showsyou watch relifously? Which ones? The only shows I currently watch religiously are just sports. My schedule prevents me from watching a lot of the serial shows and I am too lazy to set the VCR. If I miss a sporting event I can always catch the highlights on SportsCenter. With that said I used to be addicted to "Married With Children" and "The Drew Carrey Show"....ok...and I lied....I guess I do watch "South Park" every week...
Have you ever been out of the country? If so, Where di you go? If not, where do you WANT to go (list as many as you want!). I will answer both questions. Since my wife is from Buffalo we went into Canada while visting her relatives last summer -- Toronto was such an AWESOME city! When I was in high school I took a trip with my father to the British Isles. We toured parts of England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. It was the experience of a lifetime! There are still three places I would LOVE to go. 1) Paris 2) Rome 3) Athens. I just love history and all three are such historical icons.
You are given a free trip for you, your wife and5 bwwers. Everything is paid for! Who do you take and where do you go? Hmmmm...that is tough because I would take everyone :) Of course we would take the Greece/Italy cruise so that I could hit 2 of my 3 places. I guess I would take Caitie, Kitzy, Erika, SOMMS (App State!) and WannaBeAFoster.
What are some books that you could read over and over again? Ragtime by E.L. Doctorow, The Abominable Showman by Howard Kissel
Have you ever read EVERYTHING an author has written? If so, who was the author? Sadly, no...unless they have only written one book. However, if you count online theatre articles I read Peter Filichia's columns religiously regardless of which site he migrates to.
If you were given three wishes what would you wish for (no wishing for more wishes!)
1) Enough money to financially free so that I could have financial freedom, make sure my family and relatives were financially set, and so I could give money to various charities. I have no desire to be rich, but it would be nice to be able to afford to go to NYC whenever I want. I also would like to be able to help ouy struggling arts organizations with funding.
2) I would wish to be able to have Gene Kelly's dancing ability so that I could have a career performing!
3) I would wish that theatre would become as popular and thriving as it was in the 30's -- 50's and that new and daring shows would be able to be produced because there wouldn't be quite the liability.
If you could change three things in US policy what would they be? First, that the president would be upfront with the US people and not do things and then admit to them later (or trust false information to make HUGE decisions). I agree with a FEW of the things this administration has done but I feel that they have gone about them in the wrong way. Second, I believe in what George Washington said about political parties that they are bad for the country. I am so sick of partisan politics. I wish we had candidates who truly stood for what THEY believe in and not what someone else pressures them into believing (or forces them to believe). I get so tired of all the mudslinging back and forth and all the attempts each party uses to discredit the other. I am so soured on politics that I hardly follow it anymore. You can never be sure when you are hearing the truth. I know that it would be next to impossible to do because of all the funding that parties are able to generate...but I think it would be nice to be able to unite behind a candidate because of what they stand for and not for who they stand with. I have so many friends who are both democrat and republican and it sickens me that many of them can't get along (even though they believe essentially the same thing) just because of the party they belong to.
Who do you think was the best president? The worst?
Best: FDR because he helped us through the depression, set up the New Deal, and guided us through WWII
Worst: Probably either U.S. Grant or Warren G. Harding...both we not fit to be presidents and their administrations were peppered with numerous scandals.
Beach or mountains? Mountains to live, beach for vacation
Ocean or pool? For the purpose of swimming I would say a pool, for hanging out and enjoying a vacation I would say the ocean
Pepsi or Coke? Coke, although since I am from NC I am supposed to say Pepsi (since it was started here)
Red or blue? Blue...which makes up about 90% of my wardrobe
Sesame chicken or sweet and sour? Haha...where did this question come from??? SESAME CHICKEN!
What is your favorite Mexican dish? Dinner #11 which includes a beef burrito, taco, and rice...and then I get a side of cheese dip for my nachos!
How is your ideal steak cooked? Medium to Medium-Well, it depends on the place
What is your favorite dessert? Chocolate, Apple Pies, and if I am at a fancy restaurant -- Creme Brulee
Yay for going to Scotland? I went and loved it there.
I am glad you answered my random ?'s
one more bump for Chris since most likely I wont be up when your reign ends!
It was a lot of fun getting to know more about one of my favorite posters!

Thank you all for all of your questions! I have truly enjoyed being BWW Celebrity of the Day for June 7th, 2006. It has been a hard decision to pick my successor -- so much that I decided to pick the person at random. I put the names of all of the people who asked me questions (3 of you) who had not previously been named BWW COTD in a cup and then without looking drew out a name...so today's BWW COTD of the day for June 8, 2006 is....
JLC6314!!!!
Congrats Jen! I hope you have a great day on top of BWW!!!
To the others....I would have been just as happy if I had drawn either one of your names! Hopefully luck will shine on both of you soon! :)
